Hi Everyone, I was looking online regarding this on the Disney website but it doesn't really explain what it is, is it a ride?? I was on a sort of "experience type thing before" and I am sure it was called Alien Encounter and it terrified me:cry:, and is that renamed:veryconfu I will be going with my twin 6 year old and wondering if it is suitable

Stitches Great Mistake is by far the worst decision WDW has made in changing a ride (in my opinion), but then again, we loved ExtraTerrorestrial.

It is much like the Alien Encounter previous ride in the aspect of the same set up where you are in a circle in the dark around something in the center. Remember, this is Stitch when he was still 626 and busts out. At one point Stitch belches a horrid chili dog in your face, whispers in your ear and steps on your shoulders.

If your kids are afraid of the dark, then I wouldn't recommend it. Personally, I have a problem recommending this ride to anyone, regardless of fears of the dark. But again, MANY people love the ride. It is much like AE but toned down to have stitch instead of an Alien with vile smells and less excitement.

Yup just more of the same ol' same ol'. Round room, thing in the center and seats that move. Mission To Mars, Alien Encounter and now Stitch. In my opinion they should have scrapped the whole thing and started over twenty years ago.

Say what you will about the attraction (and I'll more than likely agree with you), but that AA is impressive.

But does one (well, techincally two) AA figure make up for this incredible waste of time and valuable space?

Agreed

I agree with all of the replies thus far. Stitch is a bit more suitable for children as opposed to Alien but I think it would still spook some kids and it is dark. I think it was a mistake on Disney's part for several reasons but I don't want to really get into that unless the topic comes up. But, to answer your question it is very much like Alien but more disgusting/disturbing than scary. Hope this helps!

Honestly, you know your kids better than anyone else. I suggest you riding it yourself before you let your kids on it and you make the decision on whether it is suitable for them or not.

Some will say it's tame enough, others will say it is too intense.

Many parents make the mistake of not riding a ride before allowing their kids on it and then get upset at Disney when their kids get scared. A ride is like a movie or tv show in the aspect of you know your kids, you know what is suitable for them and what is not. So I suggest you hopping on it first and you make the call.

I thought I'd toss my two cents in since I actually kind of like the ride & I love Stitch as a character. It's not the best ride by any means, and i don't need to ride it every time, but I don't hate it.

It's the same set up as Alien Encounter, except the Alien has been replaced by Stitch. He is trapped in the middle pod, and escapes from his pod and the lights go out. He runs around the room, you can hear him in your ear speakers. He does things to surprise/scare you - like burping & spitting, which I know turns a ton of people off from this ride. If your kids don't like the dark, or being startled, stay away from it. If they like Stitch, and you don't think the dark & surprises in the dark will bother them, then you could give it a shot.

It is better for kids than Alien Encounter ever was - but it's still not suitable for all kids. You just have to use your judgment with your own kids since you do know them best.

In my opinion it is the worst ride I'd ridden at WDW for one fact, it made me sick with the burping part. I don't know if it was some kind of reaction or what but I was literally in the bathroom for hours having "protein spills."

Yet I wonder what people would have thought of this if they brought the attraction out first and then released Lilo & Stitch in theaters...because it seems so confusing that it's suppose to be Stitch from the beginning of the film...It's a really strange concept.

Basically what it is, is a show that is similar to the old AE(though I never got to see it) but not as scary. I would recommend it, but only if there is absolutely no line, which is probably 60% of the time. But the absolute worst MK attraction and waste of time and space, is right across from Stitch. Its called monsters inc laugh floor, and it didnt live up to the name at all, and its just stupid.

I suggest you read the Unofficial Guide's breakdown, and possibly try to do it alone once to pre-screen it. You know your kids best, possibly just asking them before you leave would be good. Also, there has to be some footage to be found on the internet to show them.

But, please don't let others sway you from thinking of it as a waste. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, and many people on these boards will bash to no end. Could it end up being a bad choice? Yes, clearly every everything you decide to try could be. But, if you don't try out something once, you're only depriving yourself.

Finally, I'm not a parent, but I think I can safely say that children are often unpredictable. They end up loving things that no one really understands what the appeal is. And sometimes they end up hating things for the same reason. So if you think your kids can comfortably handle the attraction, then why not try it if you have time. It could end up being something they love, or it could end up, at the worst, being something you all love to hate... together.

Good luck on your trip either way, have fun.

It is the best ride that Disney Imagineering has ever come up with. A Definite "E" ticket attraction. Well if "A" was a bad ride and "Z" was the top of the line, then Stitch is a solid "E".

Seriously the way I look at it is that it's Disney World and it's in Tomorrowland so it could be just about anything and I would love it. Who here wouldn't love to be on Stitch and not stuck in their office. <Raises Hand>

You could probaly find a video of the show on youtube. Of course you wont be able to feel or smell the effects that are in the show but you could get an idea of how dark it is and whatnot. I'd suggest seeing the show at least once, then you can form your own opinion on it.
