What hotels arent effected by smoking ban?

I have read that some hotels on Disney property that arent owned by Disney arent effected by the ban... anyone know which ones? I know one of them is the Hilton on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. I figure I still have 6 weeks and read that Disney is allowing all smokers who booked rooms expecting the ability to smoke, to rebook else where if they choose. I want to find out my options. Why stay and give money to WDW and stay at the WL and not be able to enjoy a cigg if I can still stay on Disney property and still get the transportation to and from the parks and be able to light up in my room!

You can still smoke on the patio downstairs at the WL.

WDW website:
Q. How will this policy be enforced?
A. Guests will be reminded of the policy upon check-in. A $250 - $500room recovery fee plus tax (based on the Resort and room) will becharged to Guests who smoke in Guest rooms, on balconies or on patiosto cover the costs of cleaning and restoring the room to a smoke-freecondition.

Swan doesn't allow smoking according to one of the sites I looked at, we stayed there and never had to ask for non-smoking rooms. I'm not sure about the Dolphin, they may have gone non-smoking as well.

WOW! Walking distance to both parks plus smoking rooms? I need to make a phone call to my travel agent first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks for the info.

Am I dreaming or did a few posts here just vanish in thin air?

Yes, they did. I suggest you and others just drop this argument right now, your question has been answered.

BTW, I'm a moderator, moderating. ;) And now that I know MY OT post has been read, it too will vanish.

Thats fine, though I didnt think my last post or slappys was a problem.

Also in the future could you at least post something when ya delete a post/s? Im turning 40 in a few weeks and no word of a lie, I started questioning my sanity for a few minutes.

Will they allow smoking at the Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds? :lookaroun

It's a good question. Probably not anywhere and everywhere on the campground. And probably there won't be "smoking loops." Most likely, just like the resorts, there will be areas where smoking is permitted that will have a little distance from the campgrounds. If you've got a trip coming up, you may want to call Guest Svcs to find out for sure, and if you or someone in your party smokes, you can try to request a site as close as possible to a smoking area.

Good question. I would think if you're using their cabin, no. But as MaXXis stated, I can't see how they can prohibit it in your own camper, as long as it's enclosed. (vs a tent pop-up type)

I hope someone comes along with an answer.

Don't say I never did anything for you people. :D I called Fort Wilderness direct, and talked to "Selma" (I'm not saying her name is changed to protect the innocent, I'm just saying that's what she told me her name was and she could've been lying, you know how those CMs love to play-act). Reading directly off a fact sheet, she said "Smoking will be permitted at campsites and on cabin porches, but not inside the cabins themselves."

Maxx, despite my chop-busting, you may want to consider a Fort Wilderness cabin, since, according to "Selma" you can just smoke on the porch.

If anyone wants to double-check, find out if "Selma" was just effing with my head, the number to call Ft. Wlderness direct is 407-824-2900.

I now anxiously await the inevitable "How come we can smoke on Fort Widlerness cabin porches but not on a balcony at any WDW resort" thread (s).

Yea Slappy... its all cool... and ya know that does raise a serious question to why on the porch but not on balcony, because no smoking means no smoking... why are they making exceptions to their own rule? Oh well, who am I to question their logic? LOL

Oh and there are no rooms available during my dates at non Disney owned resorts... I could try the Cabins but I guess I will just have to stick with the Lodge and endure the suffering, because the Lodge just has more flare then the Cabin area.
