What happened to pretty Spaceship Earth?

So a question -- how do people end up on third shift? Are they just put there? Do some people request it? Wouldn't most folks prefer day shifts? Just wondering how it all works, considering the very small differential.

At Disney you either request it (if transfering from another department) or if it's your first time going to Casting, you are placed there because you have "something wrong" with you (according to Disney) where you cannot be placed in front of guests (i.e. visable tats, missing tooth, or just plain look funny). They've been doing this fr years and it's discrimination even though they say they are an equal opportunity company. But if you are a CP, you can have an arm growing out of the side of your head and they will still put you up at the front lines. No joke.

The extra arm would be useful for cleaning toilets.

The gunk/dust or whatever it is was still there this week. It was really only noticeable first thing in the morning.

Somebody here on the board had mentioned that it was supposed to be cleaned up earlier this month. However, when we just went on the 15th it was still dirty on the top. My wife, who usually never notices things like that, took one look at Spaceship Earth from the parking lot and got a funny look on her face then asked "What is that garbage on the top of Spaceship Earth?". I was pretty shocked to find it still there. Even with a lower amount of maintenance staff than they used to have they should still be able to get very noticeable things like that fixed. That is just about the same as windows on Cinderella's castle falling off and Disney just ignoring it.

I seriously saw nothing yesterday. Not from the parking lot, not entering at rope drop, not leaving around one. If it is there, it isn't glaringly obvious to everyone.
You know that imagination is a wonderful thing. :angelic:

Another point is that even if there is something up there, it may be there for a reason and not simply lack of maintenance that everyone seems hell bent of proving.

I am here to confirm that I visited Epcot twice in October (18-19) and on both occasions I did not spot any blemishes or "gunk" on Spaceship Earth. Here's some pics for clarification:

I actually found that Spaceship Earth seemed shiner and more defined when I visited.

EDIT: The dark green stuff covering the left of Spaceship Earth is definitely a tree. Just clarifying before anyone quotes my post.
