What ever happened with the Tigger attack?

Ziffel, why are you having such a hard time understanding that the character was the one that was wronged, not the guest?

Forgive me, but it's arrogant and closed-minded to assume that someone doesn't UNDERSTAND something, when in fact they simply DISAGREE with your opinion. That's the case here. Having said that, I'm perfectly willing to admit that I'm no more certain that the guest was wronged, than you are that the character was wronged. I'm simply stating that IF the CM's action was intentionally meant to hit the kid, then he should have faced disciplinary action unless he had absolutely no other choice.

I was also doubting someone's claim that the CM "got a promotion" after the incident. Not only does it sound completely made up, but the poster who made the claim wasn't able to back the statement up with anything.

The thing is, it's entirely possible that the CM could've gotten a promotion - but not necessarily right after the incident. Maybe down the line they got a promotion for something specific.

I'm not disputing the possibility. Anything is possible. I was questioning the poster (jensdisney) who stated, as fact, that he did get promoted. She couldn't support that statement with any evidence or rational explanation. (see below)

In the original thread from when the incident happened it stated that the kid was reaching to unzip Tigger's outfit and the reaction was that Tigger was moving to prevent it from happening and the kid got in the way! Also, the CM was not fired and continued to work there and was actually promoted later on. Good for him!!!

The video that was provided to the media, and Orange Co.Sheriff dept by the father was a edited copy that he made showing as he claimed at the time,an unprovoked attack against his son.The police investigators, and Disney both immediately could see that something was not right and requested the original tape from the parents, and the parents refused. A court order was then obtained and they were forced to provide it. On the tape there was several seperate incidents showing the boy doing things to other characters at the parks. In those instances there was no response from the cast members. The full video with Tigger also showed the boy doing things to the cast member just before the "slap".During one of those his mother could be heard telling him,"Stop it !" Also after the "slap" the father yelled at the boy and asked him "What did you do?" and then said "Sorry Tigger". What was also shown that was not in the edited copy was the hand signal given by the cast member which meant it was not intentional.

The family hired an attorney and were asking for Disney to reimburse them for the trip and attorney fees. The boy eventually fessed up to what he did during a depostion, and admitted his father encouraged him to lie.The case was settled out of court, and the family was banned from any future admission to any Disney Parks.

Wanted add to back up another members post. My wife and I are friends with the castmember also,he was cleared, and was promoted to a higher position in the dept.
