An inflatable table that has drink holders so I can float my alcoholic beverages over to the sandbar at Serenity Bay...I think the dollar store actually sells them...next year I'm bringing that and an inflatable alligator...

My first cruise was awesome, and I honestly don't remember being upset about NOT having something. As I've cruised more, I've started bringing things that I like (formal wear, snorkel equipment, binoculars, among others), but none of those things are "must haves" that I regretted not having on that first cruise.

Someone else's credit card.

Last year we headed to Houston the day before our cruise. Someone that night decided my credit card is what they needed. I checked my email one last time before we left the hotel and headed for the ship. Had a notification regarding suspicious behavior. I had to shut that card down that morning before we left... it was also the card we intended to use for our onboard account. Luckily my wife brought her card or we would have been finished before we left.

I probably would have brought a few non disposable cups. I felt like I wasted so many cups at the drink station during the day and would have rather had something more sturdy at times. I saw some people with their tervis' and I was jealous. They do sell some at the gift shop but I did not see this right away. Also, I wasn't planning on needing a sweat shirt or sweater. I traveled in March and we had some cool weather and I only brought one sweater! It's also helpful for the very air conditioned restaurants. I ended up doing laundry!

I seriously overpacked for our first cruise. Of course I obsessively read every tip known to man before we went. LOL! I love @wogwog 's suggestion. That's a good one. What @HollyAD said is a good tip, too. We never sail without a big ol' Tervis tumbler for each of us. I also have a couple cheap-ish plastic cups that I picked up on one of our cruises when we were in Key West. The only time we ever use them is on cruises. We bring our Tervis tumblers for mixing adult beverages, sodas, etc. The plastic cups are for ice or ice water. We're weird like that. ;)

If you plan to take advantage of the self serve drink dispensers on the pool deck take foldable cardboard drink carry. The kind you get at a fast food joint. Takes up no room in luggage and those little cups are tough to carry more than two at a time.

Sheer Genius!!!

We went on our first cruise last month. The day before we left, my wife gave our daughter her credit card for some last minute shopping. When we got to the hotel in Miami the day before we sailed my wife could not find the card, and it was the one we planned to use on the ship. Fortunately, I had my card from the account and she did find hers in a different purse pocket.

It was only a four night cruise, with no formal night, but 7 days overall so packing was fairly simple. This was the first time as a family of five I can say there wasn't anything we forgot. I do like the earlier poster's idea of the drink caddy and will try to remember that for our next trip.

We did this and it was awesome. It's so handy when one person makes a soda run while the rest of us wait for room service! Juggling 4 cups is about impossible. :)

You may be able to get away with the little table, but you are not allowed to bring floats from home.

You can use your non-disposable cup, but you cannot fill it directly. You have to fill a disposable cup, and then pour that into your cup. the disposable cups are to cut down on any disease transmissions. That is why they tell you to use a new cup every time. They don't want to risk having your salvia on the cup, and then cup jammed up against the dispenser.

Yes
Less luggage/clothes.

I brought a couple of tumbler cups for the soda machines and it was a great idea. Plus I could mix my beverages in them too :)

Dave is correct. Disney only wants clear tubes for safety reasons.
This is interesting. Safety reasons, eh? I'm trying to imagine what these specifically could be but I'm drawing a blank. I always imagined floats from home were a no-no because of space/clutter on the ship + on Castaway. However unlikely it is, i think its a legit arguement to ask "What if every passenger brought their own float from home?"

Lots of colored "floaties" can block a lifeguard's view if a drowning person slips underwater. That would be my guess, anyway...
