What Do You Take To The MK?? Watercraft, Monorail or Bus?

How do you prefer to get to the Magic Kingdom?

From Bay Lake, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, you can either take a Bus or a Boat.

From GF, Contemporary, or Polynesian you can take either a bus, boat or Monorail.


Or......

If you are coming from the parking lot at the transportation and ticket center (TTC) you can either jumpon either a Ferry Boat or Monorail

Usually it's a bus from a Disney resort. HOWEVER, starting tomorrow for a week, I will be taking the Monorail from the Polynesian!!!! :sohappy:

Whenever I can I take the Monorail, but usually it is the bus. I have never taken a boat.

Boat from the Wilderness Lodge is the favorite for us.

From the WL we take the boat both ways.

From the GF monorail over, boat back.

From the Contemporary, walk over, monorail or walk back.

From the Poly, monorail or boat both ways. Sometimes we will get off at the TTC and walk the rest of the way.

I didn't know you could take a bus from the monorail resorts to the MK.

I always try and take the boat. I just love it. Its so relaxing and I love the scenery.

I take the boat form FtW or WL, the monorail from Poly and GF, walk from the Contemporary, 9 times out of 10 we take the ferry from the TTC.

You are so lucky...im so jealous! I love the Poly and havent gotten the chance to stay there, but every trip we do breakfast there. I never leave the world without a visit to the Poly, if its to eat or just walk around the resort..it is absolutely gorgeous. Have a safe and fun trip to the world! :wave:


We do our ADR breakfast at the Poly and Contemporary every visit. We usually just take the monorail from both to MK.

i usually stay at shades of green but even then we take the monorail because i guess its a tradition that the first day of vacation we go to the magic kingdom by monorail, we usually walk to the poly for breakfast then get on the monorail there

It depends upon where I'm coming from. I've taken the Monorail, The Ferry Boat( from TTC), the boat from WL, the boat from GF(smaller boat), the busses(from the Resorts), and the tram from the TTC ( in 1971, past the CR).

definately the Monorail to the MK....the other parks I usually drive...

First Choice is Monorail, 2nd Bus, and at the last resort Boat. I have had a bad experience with the boat to Wilderness Lodge.

I rent a car to drive the family to Florida (the Prius is too small for 5 and luggage for 2 weeks). I will usually drive to the Contemporary and say that I'm eating/shopping there and then will take the monorail from the Contemp to the MK(used ot be able to do that from the Poly, but now they limit parking to 2 hours). We stay at the Y&BC so we don't need to take any transportation to MGM or Epcot (walking is just fine). I drive to DAK.

We will take the boats, but we've had very bad exeperices with the buses (1+ hour waits at the BC) so it's easier to drive.

I didn't know you could take a bus from the monorail resorts to the MK.

I wasn't aware of that either. You have a variety of routes! If it's humid and hot, I'll go for the monorail. If the weather is nice or it's dark, I'll go for the ferry. Actually it's great if you're heading toward the park on the ferry when Wishes starts. You've got a great view and no one else is on the boat!

We take the monorail from GF, Poly. or CR. We take the boat from WL. If we stay at one of the other resorts we drive, then take the monorail from the TTC.

It depends on where we are at the time that we are going to the MK.
Although, I do prefer the monorail or boat rides!

We take the resort monorail since we always stay at the Poly. On a few occasions after being at the parks, we take the little boat that goes from MK, GF and Poly. I like both ways of getting around since they are both enjoyable.

For the past two times I've stayed at the GF and Poly.

Taking the monorail is fun, but there is something about taking the boat that's just so cool.

For the majority of the time, in the mornings we take the monorail. But in the evenings and afternoons when the monorails get jammed, we take the boats.
