What do you love about wilderness lodge

Hey everyone,
Hope your all having a great Easter Break.

I was wondering if anyone has stayed at Wilderness Lodge and if so what you love about it.....

Would be great to hear everyones feedback

The quiet relaxed atmosphere and romantic intimacy of dining at Whispering Canyon.

Stayed there last september very nice. The whispering canyon cafe is a lot of fun . When your at the magic Kingdom at closing you can avoid the crowds at the bus and boat launch we walked to the Contemporary and got the boat there takes you right to the lodge.

If you're an early morning walker/jogger, there's a trail that goes through the woods to the campground. I saw deer, various birds, and even a snake (non-poisonous) one morning. You can also rent a bike surrey and ride over, if you prefer. When you get there, there is a small petting zoo, and the stables are close by.

I thought the boats from the Contemporary stopped at 22:00, as we found out post meal at the Cali Grill. :shrug:

I love the free entertainment. Hearing over indulged perma tanned housewives moaning about having to share a boat with "those people from the camp ground" is always a delight, and proof that money doesnt buy class.

That aside the impressive centre atrium is worth a stay alone, you sghould make the effort to have a good explore and take in all the themeing and even just chill on one of the many rockers with a wee hello cheeky.

Just to name a few things:

-The music you hear piped throughout the resort.
-The smell from the restaurants as you walk down towards the pool.
-The many fireplaces, that somehow seem inviting and cozy even in the summer.
-The boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, and Contemporary.
-Being able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach at night.
-Renting bikes and riding over to Fort Wilderness.
-Having a Woods View room and being able to see the castle and the fireworks at night.
-Sitting on the balcony at night, just listening to the boats travel to and from the Magic Kingdom.
-Sitting in the lobby at night with a cup of hot chocolate in awe at the amazing lobby.
-The good food and fun of Whispering Canyon.
-Having a drink in the evening at Territory Lounge. Friendliest bartenders at Disney World.
-Ordering room service and getting the cedar plank salmon from Artist Point.
-Getting off the bus after a long day at the park, instantly hearing that relaxing music, and soaking in the amazing atmosphere as soon as you step off the bus.

I could go on, but I'll stop there.

I love it b/c the romantic rustic theme. The pool area is nice and the views are awesome!! The only thing I didn't care for was with other Deluxe hotels, getting to the parks is easier - like with back door to Epcot at the Beach and Yacht Club or the monorail. Of course - that is why it is less expensive. That is the only draw back that I can think of though.

The theming is awesome. We have had so many great vacations at WL. On our last trip, we were the Flag Family on the last day. The view was amazing from the roof and Stan is an amazing CM at WL.
