I heard Sunshine Food Fair is closed all next month, is that true? That place has a little bit of everything from different countries, right? Is it like a food court?

There isn't one particular country that we really want to eat at.

If we don't eat there, I though Electric Umbrella or Fountain View? Which is better?

Sunshine Food Fair is gone. It will be replaced by a new counter service area with the theme of "Seasons".
Hold on while I try to find a link to the article.

I would either go to the Electric Umbrella (not as good as it used to be) or to the place outside of Mexico. I think the name is something like La Cantina de San Angel. I'll double check for you.

Also, I agree with PixiePower (below). Counter-service at Epcot has really gotten bad lately. Out of all the parks (including water parks) Epcot is probably the hardest to find kid-friendly food.

We used to eat at the Sunshine Food Fair and were really sad that it closed. We have not found a good alternative yet. Electric Umbrella is ok if you just have to eat but go at an off time. It gets crowded. My kids did not like the counter service in Mexico and they LOVE Mexican food. We can't wait for the new place to open. We are not usually back in WS by lunch so we have been surviving on a big breakfast somewhere else , a few snacks and then an early dinner back in W:S. The food offerings for counter service are very slim at Epcot right now. Will be better soon though!

If I were you, I'd skip counter service altogether. One of the best parts about EPCOT is the variety of table service restaurants. There's the international flair of World Showcase. Great but expensive seafood at the Living Seas. If you're famished, the restaurant in Norway and the spining Garden Grill are all-you-care-to-eat. That said, I agree the counter service in Mexico is good. If you like sushi or the like, the Yakitori House in Japan is good, too. Don't forget fish and chips in England. Yay!

The thing is, we have eary reservations for the Spirit Of Aloha dinner that night, so we really wanted something small and quick (but GOOD) for lunch while we're in Epcot that day.

Also, we have budgeted out our dining plan points just right so we have all of our counter-service points planned for our lunches (except for Cindy's Royal Table for lunch one day) and table-service points for dinners.

We always enjoy a light lunch at the pastry shop in France. They have croissant sandwiches, quiche, bread and cheese plates that are so yummy! Afterwards, their pastries are incredible!!

Part of what makes it enjoyable for us are the cafe tables that they have right outside the shop. The area is quiet, out of the way and great for people watching!!

Well, whilst Morocco has some smaller dishes I think if them a being quite hearty. For a smaller lunch try the bakery in Norway - I'm a big fan of the School Bread there.

Or you could see what the new offerings are in the re-habbed Land!

There is a kid friendly counter service at the American pavillion. they serve hamburgers, hotdogs, and the like. I have always found that this particular restuarant is not as crowded as the restuarants at the entrance of Epcot. Plus, this is a perfect idea if your family would rather have familiar food as opposed to "exotic" food from other parts of the world.

I'm going to put another vote in for the counter service in Morocco. They have a sample plate that is wonderful. I love being able to try things that I can't get other places and I've always been happy with the quality. My wife loves the fish and chips in England.

Normally, I'd vote for Cantina de San Angel. But we eat that kind of food down here, which is of much higher quality, and therefore Cantina doesn't appeal to us as much. Plus we eat that kind of food a lot so we like to have American food for a change  For kid-friendly and for good ol' American fast food food, Electric Umbrella or Liberty Inn are fine

When we want a light lunch in Epcot, we split a couple of orders of Fish & Chips. And then if we're still hungry we get some crepes in France.

The counter service in China isn't too bad. I've eaten there on almost every trip being quite satisfied. All depends on what you order though. They have a great juice drink too but it's a little pricey. Stay clear from the counter service at Japan though.

My parents like the fast-food Chinese in China. I like the fast-food Mexican restaurant in Mexico. Also, there is a restaurant near Innovations. It's huge. I like the location and there is a pretty large selection.

This is a very off the wall idea that my family and I did for lunch one day. Go to Beaches n’ Cream at the Beach Club (I believe you can take a boat ride there that picks up between England and France.) and order The Kitchen Sink. The Kitchen Sink is a mammoth size Sunday that has one scoop of every flavor ice cream, every topping they have, about 20 cherries and a full can of whip cream. You children will think that you are the coolest parent in the world for letting them eat ice cream for lunch and you will have a great time. The Kitchen Sink is about $22 and drinks are about $2 each.
