First off awesome job @joel_maxwell

Next - I'm proud to report I logged my first run in 5 months today. 5k today at the gym. I'm actually surprised how good I felt, and I plan on getting my butt back into shape. I have a few half marathons planned this year, and the Glass Slipper challenge in 2015.
Welcome back Brad. Thanks for the kind words.

Gotta put that new watch to good use. :)

Still on vacation in south Texas. Did 5 miles on the Arroyo trail. Man I love that trail. Wish it was longer. 72F at start and a cold front rolled in about a mile in. Temp dropped to 60 instantly with high winds. Never experienced that before.

4.25 miles on the treadmill this morning. Since I'm a day off on my normal weekly routine I'm trying to decide if I should run for the third day straight tomorrow (on the treadmill because DH is out of town) or do Power 90 sculpting tomorrow and the opposite on Friday. I normally run Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, do Power 90 on Tuesday, and rest on Friday and Sunday. I can't decide if it would be better to run or do the dvd on the day before my long run which is usually a day off. Thoughts?

I'm running mornings T-W-Th with long run on Saturday. Power 90 Sunday and after work through Friday. Friday is sweat. It's working very well for me. I'm only doing easy level 1-3 to keep other muscle groups honest. I don't think I will be doing 4-6 while running. We'll see.

As depressing as checking in on everyone is and will be I will check in regularly anyway. Now that being said I will be laid up for a while. I am not allowed to even put weight on the knee for at least 10 days and then checked again. I have a big build up of fluid on the knee that has to decrease on it's own. The good news is that there is no long term damage but I have been warned that if I don't follow the regime set out for me I could do permanent damage and that would end the running altogether. The meniscus is depressed slightly but not a real problem and everything else appears as it should. ( I got to see the x rays myself). Be warned folks when your knee swells, take note and don't keep running on it anyway, or you too could end up like me. This sucks so bad it is disgusting.

Hang in there. Plenty of time for a comeback. Be patient and get well first. My doc loves it when I ask him about aches and pains.

Today was 5.31 easy miles @8:45/mi pace.

In the past 5 days I've done a total of 29+ miles, which is pretty big mileage-wise for me. Now I won't feel so guilty sitting by rear end in a lounge chair at the pool at my hotel in Puerto Rico tomorrow with a bucket of beer. Ah vacation...

Have a great vacation! I leave for Iceland on Saturday. Quite a contrast from Puerto Rico! :D

Last night I jumped on the treadmill to do a workout I've done many time: 4 miles with reps of (1/4 mile at 8:30 min pace x .2 mile at 10 min pace). For some reason, it turned out to be one of the most brutal, miserable runs I've done in years. I wanted to die the whole time and had to really concentrate not to fly off the TM in exhaustion. I managed to finish it by extending the rest intervals a little longer but it truly s*cked. My son was in the room with me watching what I was watching on TV while I ran (GH!), and he looked at my contorted face and said to me, "If it's such an awful run, Mom, why don't you stop?" I managed to grunt in response that once I commit to doing a workout, unless I'm injured, I finish it. I have no idea why it was so hard, but it's done. Hope I set a good example for him.

Have great vacations @LindsayLoves and @Kristia! I'm jealous! More snow coming our way this weekend.

So I went with Plan C this morning and slept in  I just couldn't make myself get up. I'm planning to run tomorrow morning and I'm almost considering getting up early enough to be able to run 8 miles so I can hit 250 miles for the year by the end of February. Luckily as I type this I'm realizing just how stupid that would be, I'd end up getting up around 3am and I've got a long run scheduled for Saturday morning so I really don't need to go that far tomorrow.

HI Guys! (Boy have I missed you!)
I haven't been posting because I haven't run since November but training for the W& D 1/2 starts soon! Honestly I am glad I haven't needed to train for anything--this winter has been brutal in these parts as Jill, Kristy and Nick can attest.
I have been very busy with my new business: OMazing Kidz Yoga. It's going really well!
Teaching weekly classes, private lessons, birthday parties, parent/child classes and more. (check out my website www.omazingkidzyoga.com or facebook page)
I have to say I am absolutely loving teaching yoga to children but I'm looking forward to getting my sneakers on and start running again.
