I tested my first camelback yesterday. It was 93 degrees and very humid. I ran on the track. 12:36 first mile. Then ran
a quarter and walked a quarter for the next mile, in 13:37. Walked the rest. 16:45 pace. 3.39 mile total. Only problem
with the camelback was trying to suck in water, when I was out of breath. Otherwise it was comfortable to wear.

Actually a good running weekend. Ran 5.24 miles on Saturday, it was 75 degrees and humidity was nasty.
I ran at the same time on Sunday morning. It was 10 to 15 degrees cooler without the humidity. I ran 7.81
miles at a faster pace than I had run on Saturday. Unfortunately, according to the weatherman, the humidity
should be back by the end of the week.

13 Sun, spent the whole time talking to my DS on his bike while running, so yeah.

Agreed. My old water bottles were squeeze, much easier to get water faster. The hose/bladder combo takes longer and I have to work it in with breathing.

Isn't it funny how much easier a run can be when you have someone with you, you can talk to?

I totally agree. I ran 4.10 miles last night. Temps were in the low 80s but the humidity was brutal.
I ran very steadily and was amazed when I checked my watch, my last mile was at a 13:50 pace.
My legs felt like lead and I felt like I was walking more than running.

Went with some friends on a « little » run at the height of the day’s heat. They have only been running a few months and the way they were talking, I figured « little » would be 2, 3 miles tops. To avoid the heat, it was mostly a trail run (I hate trail running). After 3 miles, my friend said “it’s only about a kilometer more”. At 3.5, i decided I’d had enough. The rest of the walk back from there was still another mile 😉

The good news is, I no longer feel worried about dragging them into my 24 hour relay team 😆
