What did you do?

This morning, I completed another maintenance run. Little less then a 5K distance.

Time: 42:40
Distance: 3.33
Avg Pace: 12:49

Weather was incredible today, probably one of the nicest days for a run. One little thing is that since the temperatures are starting to rise wearing a mask becomes harder. I am sure I’ll get use to it though.

This morning, I completed this week’s long run. Since it was a recovery week it was only slightly longer then my normal maintenance runs. I also cut out the magic mile, since next week I plan on running the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon. Little more then a 5K distance.

Time: 50:03
Distance: 4.05
Avg Pace: 12:22

Temperatures were a bit colder, but in terms of weather it was an ideal day.

Damn injury is not healing. In fact it's getting worse. I did some research and I'm pretty certain I have an intermuscular hamstring contusion which can be equally as painful and long-lasting as a hamstring pull/strain. I may have to bite the bullet and see an orthopedist even though all I did was trip and fall backwards and land with my full body weight on the metal tip of an umbrella stand. It's painful to walk now, not just to run (which I'm still doing albeit slower and shorter - I just suck it up, perhaps stupidly). :(

I’m so sorry to hear that, get better. Don’t push it you don’t want to cause even more of an injury.

It’s race week! This morning I completed another maintenance run. Little more then a 5K distance.

Time: 43:02
Distance: 3.4
Avg Pace: 12:38

The weather was ok, definitely not as nice as it has been but that seems to be changing later on in the week.

This week is notable because like I said before it is race week! This Sunday, I plan on running the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon as part of the Kessel Run challenge. Weather and conditions permitting of course. This will be the first event of the Kessel Run challenge. Right now the plan is to run the actual rival run on the actual race days weather and conditions permitting. I will do it like I ran Princess to honor the challenge. This week also marks past the half way point in terms of training until the Rival Run proper begins.

Sorry to hear. I can relate my knee has been giving me a hard time for the last 5 or 6 months. I think it is coming back now.
Try not to push it, until you see a doctor. Mine was just a misstep on a run and I tried running through and it just got worse.

This evening, I completed another maintenance run. I had to complete this back on the treadmill. It wasn’t nice in terms of weather so I took my maintenance run inside. Since this was my first actual workout on the treadmill where I put the speed up a little more then usual I wanted to take it easy. Last time I ran on the treadmill I had my knee injury. Not wanting to repeat the process (especially before I run my first Star Wars race) I took it easier. I didn’t run during the maintenance run but it was a faster walk then normal. Wasn’t overly concerned with the stats for this run.

Time: 42:46
Distance: 2.68
Avg Pace: 15:58

Sunday is my planned race day for the Virtual Star Wars Half Marathon, and the day before on Saturday I have a maintenance walk.

Today, I officially kicked off my first Kessel Run Challenge! This morning, I completed my 2021 Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon. This race was tough for me but I managed to get though in a decent time.

First off, it was hot outside probably one of the hottest races I have done. It also didn’t help I wasn’t dressed properly (I overdressed a little, which made matters worse).

Time: 02:45:21
Distance: 13.12
Avg Pace: 12:36

I started off too fast as well I believe. Running the first five miles in about 11:36-11:52 pace. After that I hovered around 12:20-12:40 mark for about another 3 miles. Did 13:02 mile once I hit Mile 9. Mile 10 was also a decent pace of 12:29. Once Mile 10 was over, all my mistakes were starting to add up. Those last 3 miles were extremely hard to get though. I pushed though and finished.

For the Rival Run portion of my Kessel Run Challenge. I plan on doing it much like I did Princess running it on the actual race day weather and conditions permitting. This was also my first outside half marathon since marathon weekend. Weather forced me to run my entire Princess on the treadmill. Anyways, Star Wars is officially upon us! Excited to continue to complete my challenge.
