After taking off yesterday to cook in preparation of the annual America Eats Itself Into Food Coma Day, I did 3.11 miles outside with my son in law. I convinced him he really wanted to run in the Dark Side Half, so he signed up. Showed him Galloway's training program and let him know it starts mid-December. He's concerned about lasting the distance. From a man that does 300 pushups every day, rock climbs couple of times a week, boxes and lifts weights. Told him he needs to start doing some planks to build that core...and he can then cut back on pushups.

It was much too cold (for me) to run outside today (the high was only about 35 degrees) and the gym at work is closed on the weekends so I convinced my DD to go on a fast walk with me. We did about 5.75 miles before we stopped for a (lukewarm) hot chocolate and then hopped on the bus home. It'll be interesting to see what happens for the local race next weekend because there's a chance of snow several times this week which usually means a few minutes of snow before it turns into rain and then freezes on the sidewalks overnight - which is exactly why I participate in the walking event and never the running event. I think this year I'll be wearing my winter boots instead of my running shoes...

@Swissmiss Looks like you're the only one who did anything this weekend ;-)

Next weekend is a planned 15Km race (9.3M). The last two times I ran, it was almost freezing. I hate the run, yet a co worker and a student are running aswell, so the battle it on, after beating both previous year.

Thursday ran the Atlanta Thanksgiving half and got the bonus Triple Peach for the Peachtree Road Race (10K), PNC 10-miler and Thanksgiving. Took that as my weekend long run and got some sleep. Goofy torture continues this week.

Did a 5k Fri pushing DS in the jogger, not too bad. But seemed to have re-aggravated the knee/hip. Sun could only do 1 mi before I had to switch to alternating sets on the legs with bike. Today was bike.

This seems to be the season of hips and knees....

Yeah, it's Eat Until You Pass Out weekend (including the leftovers) for us Americans. Along with Beat Each Other Up Friday to get those great deals on cheap TVs at Wal-Mart. Saturday was Drink Yourself Into Oblivion and Eat More Junk College Football Rivalry Day.

Yeah, we Americans like to cram all of that glutony, alcohol and shopping into one looong weekend. ;)

But Harry and Meghan got engaged!

A bit under 4 miles this evening in my collective running group with conditions better than forecast - it was about 39 degrees instead of 34 and the rain waited until we were all going home :)

I'm going to be really prepared for the half marathon in January if there is a cold snap at WDW which means if not I'll find it way too warm for running ;)

Scoring three of the seven sins in a weekend. With such an achievement, I wonder why there isnt a medal for that yet. Cause celebrating that would be typical American

Yeah, big love for Meghan becoming british!

Haven't had a chance to get on line here in the past week but I HAVE been running. Last Wednesday I did 4 miles early before I began cooking for what seemed like the next 24 hours of cooking and eating. Friday I had a wonderful run on a wooded trail that I only run on when I have my husband or son with me on the bike; this time I had my husband, son (home from freshman year of college) AND daughter all with me on their bikes and I thoroughly enjoyed those 8 miles (and was stronger than expected on the hills). Sunday I did another 4 miles. Yesterday I did 3 more. And I have 4 planned for this afternoon. I'm doing my best to work off everything I ate this weekend! LOL

Congrats on the races @Texas84

We have them....called annual hot dog, pie eating, etc., etc., contests. Yeah, Americans love stuffing themselves to the point of regurgitation to win a medal.
