What did you do?

Point series 5K this morning. Wasn't taking it that seriously and still only one minute slower than my PR. I think I'm done with 5Ks for a while. The series has a few 10Ks and a 15K coming up.

5 miles on Tuesday eve.

Had two run-ins with cars. One driver ran a stop sign and the other ran me off the road. Probably reading an important text.

Ugh. Last year I was running and DS was accompanying me on his bike, so I made him stop at an intersection and wait for the light to cross; I waited with him. When we had the light, he rode off in front of me and I followed by foot behind him. Some jackass looking at his phone made a left turn onto the street we were crossing, nearly missing the back of DS's bike and was a millisecond away from hitting me directly in the middle of the street. Thank God I was able to speed up fast enough to avoid being hit but I screamed as I lunged out of his way, and the jackass looked up when he heard me scream with a look of horror on his face. He didn't stop or apologize though. That was the closest I ever came to being hit by a car. And I was filled with such fury for the rest of the run, not because of how close he came to hitting me but because of how close he came to hitting DS. I suppose it was a good reminder never to trust that drivers on the road will do the right thing, whether you are on foot, bike or in a car yourself (DS is taking his road test next week-aaargh!).

10.5K this morning, 2nd in my age group. Another points series race. Nice morning, 58F and partly cloudy, peach trees are blooming. Great job this morning by the Peach County Georgia Sheriff's Department. No run-ins with cars. :)

Cherry Blossom 10K is next weekend. This is my PR course.

8 miles today. I'm still struggling to get the outdoor strength back, I needed to take a few walking breaks. Although I did make myself a little bit sick from running out in the cold. I'm beginning to get worried I'll be that guy in A corral that everyone complains is walking after a mile.

4 miles outside, 60 degrees. I felt strong after this run for a change. Now it's going to fall to 30 degrees and snow here. Oh the joys of training for a spring marathon when you live in the north.
