What countries would you add to Worldshow case?

I too remember the signs advertising the introduction of Israel and Africa (Equatorial), but I remember Sweden instead of Russia.

My preferred choices would be

1. Russia
2. Greece
3. India
4. Turkey
5. Egypt
6. Thailand

My thinking is from Architecture and cuisine. These are all very unique and some aspects would be familiar to most Americans. Culture by itself is not easily visual.

I don't believe Africa or Australia will be represented in Epcot as they are visited in AK. I believe I remember official press that the Equatorial Africa (where the trading post is currently located) will not be built due to AK.

I also don't know if architecture from Australia, South American countries and others is significant or unique enough for Epcot representation.

OK seriously I would like to see....

Egypt---with its muslim/egyptian heritge very nice....more begining of mordern civilization...another african country:animwink:

Greece---with older world culture stuff would be cool begining of mordern civilization sort of....:animwink:

India---picture hinduism experince minus the smell...:hammer:

Isreal/palestine---were your being escorted through the GAZA strip and experince explosions all around you...j/k that's kinda foul, but it would be nice to have this pavilion in their and have people working from both countries in order to show how we in the "future" should be getting along...:brick:

and I know we have an african nation...moracco...but a nation from sub-saharra africa would be nice to maybe...the Congo, or South Africa...and you could learn about the native Zulu tribes and the Bantu nation....that would be cool...

or what would be funny is you have a small island in the middle of the lagoon and call it caribe....right then in that island nation you could have like cuban, puerto rican, jamacian, hati, dominican republic, etc culture...with all that latin/afro-carribean food, music and vibe...:p (or just take a small quick trip to miami...which ever you prefer...LOL)

Now if you make brazil and have carnival then I just might not make it back home....LOL...and thats all I've got to say about that...:animwink:

Having only been to WDW once, I just link Africa to the AK. I can understand, being the world showcase and all, to put something else at Epcot....but with everyone crying about shortcomings of the AK, why not, as others have suggested, theming an area there to represent some countries which might otherwise not fit in the WS?

Someone mentioned Polynesia. Having been there, Tahiti would be very sweet, but I think it might be highly limited.

Maybe for the 25th, a Disney parks around the world scenario? Or is that too much like the happiest celabration bringing in influences from other parks?

You can rule out any Country from the 3rd/4th World because it would be depressing. What would they offer anyway ? I do agree though another Country is needed.

(5) Ireland (Because it would be awesome! *even though the Irish are represented in the UK).

Uh... No we're not ;)

The UK is the UK. i.e. England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland and Ireland being two seperate countries with very different cultures, accents and histories (though, albeit not so different landscapes) would make for very different experiences.

In other words, while those from Northern Ireland can apply to work at the UK pavilion, us in the Republic can't.

Therefore, we ain't represented ;)

I think somewhere from the Middle East would be nice, with its beautiful mosques. How about United Arab Emirates? Pakistan? Saudi?

Other ideas - Australia, India and The Netherlands.

Food is a big part of the countries, so if they don't have distinct food, they wouldn't go anyways.
Greek food - GOOD.
Jamaica Food - GOOD.
Russia - RAW FISH, GOOD. Many of the countries mentioned already have the same type of food and culture represented. Not to be racial or anything -- but norway makes finland and sweden not necessary, but may also take away from russia -- so russia may not get there. same thing with egypt and morocco.

Unless the countries offer unique dining experiences, they may not make the cut. it seems to be a major factor in determining their place in WS

1. Greece
2. India
3. Russia
4. Egypt
5. Australia

All of these have distinct architechures that they are known for - Greece - Parthenon, India - Taj Mahal, Russia- domed cathedrals, palaces etc., Egypt - Pyramids, Australia - Sydney Opera House - I think they would be a great addition to the countries just based on architechure alone.

Even though it would be awesome to see those structures standing next to the ones already existing, food has to come into play. I think the only ones that could be a problem (as mentioned before) are Egypt and Russia because they are similar to other countries. But I think it would be beneficial to see Greece and India especially added because they offer different tastes that people wouldnt usually be able to try.

And finally, I think that they all have history and traditions that would be interesting to the public. There could be shows (movies and live), story time and then special traditions for the holidays.

I don't think they would do a polynesian or caribbean country because of the resorts. They would be neat though.

India, Russia, and Egypt would be cool in that order.
