What Area To Go To First?

Okay, so me and my family along with two nieces on this trip will go to MK on Easter Sunday.. Yes i know.... The question i have is..

What area should we go to first?? Now kids range from 8-13. I know there are books but hey the parks are changing very fast and rides are adding new things to there lines. So just wondering what you all say. By the way this is my nieces first time, not for us.

Depends on what they like; if they're really into princesses and fairy tales then you want to head straight through the castle into Fantasyland.

If not, I would go left and head to Adventureland and Frontierland and just go around until you hit Tomorrowland.

For years it was always adventureland for us. But a couple of years ago it somehow shifted to Fantasyland.

On our last trip though, I like hitting FL first because it was practically the *only* time we could walk through the castle with our 2yo daughter. Every other time we passed it after 10am it was closed for that show that seems to perform hourly.

navigating WDW wisely

Each time we visit we begin at Tomorrow Land working my way down to Fantasy Land then to Liberty Square and to Frontier Land then to Adventure Land and we always see everything. Of Course, we get there before openning time, and being a WDW Resort Guest, we always take advantage of the early magic hours. Then after seeing everything, we go back and re-do our most favorites.:)

for my family ,we always run towards splash mountain and get a fp. Wait in line for BTM, hit up the FP and then back through adventureland for PotC. Afterwards LS for HM etc.

From everything that I have heard & read, I think Adventureland is a good place to start. A lot of people head to Tomorrowland b/c it is on the right & a lot of people head to Fantasyland b/c it is straight ahead. I think Frontierland would be a good starting point too.

We like to go in and head left towards Pirates and work our way around as we go ending in Tomorrowland and back up Main Street. We prefer not to criss cross the park a lot wasting time.

On a super busy day like that, I'd get there first thing and probably do Fantasyland first, then ride/get FPs for the mountains.
I'd also recommend the Unofficial Guide if you're looking for specific plans. =)

As my DH says, "Always go left first!". Specifically, I would do Peter Pan's Flight first. After that I would fast pass a mountain and hit Pooh. Crisscrossing a little isn't bad first thing in the morning, but after checking off a couple of historically long line rides you can settle in and work your way around the park.

Well it seems to the left is the main choice here . But i think on Easter Sunday we may have to hit Fantasyland first due to Toon Town closed in the park. Plus i think the park stays open to 2am... My kids said they will hang with me and the wife :ROFLOL: i guess we have to wait and see.

You have to ask them which rides they would be interested in doing. If Space Mountain is a top priority, then you might want to head there first because it gets super crowded super fast.
Same with Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. Frontierland fills up slower than other areas, so my family likes going back there first to get it done while its not packed.
If you think Fantasyland is something they would enjoy, i.e. the Carousel, Winnie the Pooh, small world, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Snow White, then you could head back there because that also fills up fast.
Its all about what you would prefer to do. What's on you priorities list? Tomorrowland and Fantasyland fill up fastest though, so if those are at the top, do them first, or get Fastpasses and go somewhere else.

For some reason we always go to Tomorrowland first but I was talking to my boss (who is an avid Disney go'er) and he said go to Frontierland first. You have two of the most popular rides right there (Splash and BTM) and most of the crowds will have either gone to Tomorrowland, Fantasyland or Adventureland. You can also get in Tom Sawyer's Island before it gets crazy busy as well.

The first thing we usually do is get a fast pass for something that usually has long waits - like Peter Pan or Space Mountain. Then we head back to the hub, take our time visiting Main Street, and then head to the left.

If I had little ones with me, I would probably hit Fantasyland first.

This is what I know from my experience. In the past, the MO was go to Space Mountain ride and get a fastpass. My family has done Astro Orbit first thing, as it is slow to load and gets very busy. I've also gone to Fantasyland first thing, to ride Pooh and Peter Pan as those rides have long lines as the day goes on. I agree Frontierland is slow to fill up. My family was able to stay on BTMRR a few times as there was no one waiting to get on. And Haunted Mansion was walk on around 10am with a 9am park opening. With the Easter crowds, I would go to the ride that is most important to everyone.

We tend to be Disney creatures of habit and we head left at Casey's and over the bridge into Adventureland, while one of us heads to Peter Pan for a fastpass. Usually you can sneak around Adventureland to Big Thunder Mtn. with no line at all. Then back through to Pirates, Jungle Cruise and then thru Agraba to Liberty Square and Haunted Mansion. By that time you can catch your fastpass time for Peter Pan and get to the rest of Fantasyland with do-able lines. Send someone else for Space Mtn. fastpasses! Then head to Tomorrowland! Buzz moves quickly- And if all else fails, and you need a ride fix in the midst of long lines.... 90% of the time you can cool off and get on Pirates within 15-20 minutes.
Good Luck!

I agree with everyone, that if you have a kid, probably Fantasyland first. You can always scope out the crowd situation, grab some FastPasses and come back later if need be.

Personally, I have to go left to Adventureland. It's totally throws me off to go anywhere else first.
