What are your "waiting in line" pet peeves?

Ahhh, one time there was a family in front of us that thought it would be hilarious if they kept burping at will. It sooned turned into a contest between the father and the son--discusting. I also agree with all of the others of course--esp. the parents that think their strollers are made for digging into ankles.

I also get angry at ppl in this circumstance: you know how you can go on a ride, and sometimes a CM will ask deeper into the line for a party of 2/other to fill up the car (think SM). Well, when you are the person they call to the front of the line, I hate that ppl give you dirty looks b/c you are getting in a car before them. How don't they understand that their party won't FIT...grrr

Hmmmmm! Let's See:

1. Children who don't pay attention and bang into you.
2. Children who decide to play "Hit my best friend" and actually hit you instead.
3. Children who talk and talk and talk and don't notice that there is a huge empty space in front of them.
4. People who don't know what personal space means!

ok, here are my peeves (these have probably been listed by other people already):

1. when people are in front of me, and are so deep in conversation that they dont notice the line is moving ahead of him, and they just stay put. and after saying excuse me a few times they still dont move...for some reason that just drives me nuts, i have no patience.
2. rides that queue outside...when i was in wdw on line for buzz back in may, half the line was outside, and it was like 100 degrees out with the humidity. i dont think i've ever been that uncomfortable before
3. crying children....nuff said.
4. ok, i dont know how many of u love this system, but i cannot stand fastpass. i miss the good ole days when the lines were always moving. now, in the standby line, ur standing in the same spot, and about every five minutes u move ten feet forward. i hate that u have to make an appointment to get on a certain ride. the bottom line is, you just cant walk on anymore, no matter what time of year it is.

Here is one for all of you ..... Last year we were in line to get on Splash Mountain at MK and saw a family who entered with a child of about 10 years of age in a wheel chair. We watched them go to the front and get on the ride while the rest of us stood and watched the parents lift the kid into the ride and then remove the child. The child had a 12 year old sibling who was helping with the wheel chair. After we got off of Splash Mountain we continued on and later saw the 12 year old in the wheel chair and 10 year old running around and help with pushing. At the next ride we ran into this family they went to the front and lifted the 12 year old into the ride with 10 year olds help. Now I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping this was not a scam on handicap access until I saw them later ditch the wheelchair and head for the exit ......

Just imagine how healthy those kids are going to turn out.

:(

Sad, sad world sometimes.

A few people have said it, but the people who get in line, and then 10-15 minutes later their family comes squeezing through the line. I'm sorry, but you can forfeit your spot in line to go with your family, cause I'm not forfeiting mine. The stroller thing es me off too. I got bumped a few times by a mom behind me and I eventually got so fed up I turned around and decided to say, "Excuse you!" well needless to say her husband wasn't giving me the most friendly looks throughout the rest of the line, but at least I didn't get bumped anymore. :lpl:

Ahh

I have to agree with the "no it all" guy as one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate hearing mr. smart tell the whole line the "real" stories (for example) On a day off, I went to go ride the HM and this guy in front of me was telling the whole world that the ghosts in the balroom are actually just projections. AHHHH! Either do your research or don't say it!! But a HUGE problem I have (I've seen this often) is that (ooh, you guys are gonna love this one) this young tennage girl (around 14-15 or so, and alone) was being harrassed by a group of ghetto jerks who were talking very rudly and sexually about her, right in the stretching room! I seized the moment, got right behind them, and at the top of my lungs screamed "IS THERE A PROBLEM HERE?" After the big tuff gansters were embarassed, and sayed their bad things about me (because they're soo cool) I escorted the girl away from them. She seemed happy that someone did something. I can't beleive how people can get, and can treat others like that.

3 things...

1. When young teens think it's cute to shout obscenities while they're waiting on a break run, or in line.

2. People with strollers who get angry when you look at them because they have hit you in the ankles at least 20 times.

3. People who smell and ask you if "you done this before".

Just a few more

1. After I tell people "Bodies, please fill in ALL of the dead space," and no one moves. Finally, someone fills in the dead space, only to get pushed and shoved at and given dirty looks all because he/she followed instructions. It's called cooperation people. We even say "If the person in front of you doesn't take the space, it's thewir loss!" not those words exactly, but ya get the point. :brick:

2. There is always the classic children beating you because they're parentys don't know how to raise them with manners, and they don't know how to use them.

3. When you have the families with their lovely gutter mouths. Upon walking to the monerail station, this man was shouting terrible things to his wife right in front of his 4 year old girl. Goodness people! Didn't we learn about "inside voices" in kindergarten?!

4. People who think everything is the CMs fault, giving them the right to cut everyone in line so they can yell at the CM about how terrible their live is. People, it's called technical difficulties, live with it.

5. True story, I was in the lobby for VOTLM. I was pretty much 7 feet or so from the doors. Thats when I noticed a friend of mine. I told her to come back with me (I don't normally go in front of others) but she would'nt give up her space. So, I decided it might be okay for me to go with her: OOPS. Suddenly, this old women takes me by my shirt and throws me to the floor "EXCUSE ME!" She yelled. I mean geesh, sorry. I didn't realize it was so awful for me to go see my friend. :veryconfu

Way to go bro. I must say that there needs to be A LOT more people like you at WDW! People who actually give a darn for the people around you that you don't know and will take a stand to defend them.

I say a similar situation at the Hall of Presidents. As me and my cousin were walking into the theater for the show there was a girl walking down the row in front of us. I'd say she was probably about 15 or 16 and there was a group of 3 guys that thought they were all the ____**. You know, the group that dresses in all Holister garbage. Anway, as the girl walked down the row the guys started to talk about her in a way i can't express on this site (use ur immagination) and I guess she heard every word because she looked right at them as she walked down the row and flicked them off!

I hate it when somebody cuts a SBD fart and you are stuck there smelling it. You look at everyone around you and you just know they are looking at you thinking the you are the one who cut it.

I also get annoyed by the people that think they can sneak by and in line or use some lame excuse to get by.

Once when I was in the pre-show for Dinosaur I over heard a lady telling her daughter to sneak closer to the exit door so they would be closer when it opened. So I moved closer to the other people so she couldn't get by. She then said to me, "Oh, I just need to get by the door right over there" and pointed. I snapped and said "Yeah, so does everybody else in here!" I will admit it was rude of me to say that, but I had just had it with her. My friends I was with were shocked I said that cause I am normally very polite and just started laughing at the situation.
That happened on ToT with Brazillians i started to get fed up with the group and finally hollered at them to back of wich they diddnt understand so i yelled at them in Spanish(wich was funny) and im only 12! Im usually very understanding :fork: but at theme parks i get REALLLLY ticked of for that behavior/

I hate "ME" people. I have put up with people:

Cutting in lines
Shoving in lines
Holding a place in line for 500 people in lines
Running over my ankles with strollers
Cursing within earshot of my kids
Smoking where they are not supposed to (and I used to be a smoker!!)
Teens (or TWEENS) making out
Cell phones on rides or shows
cameras flashing throughout dark rides

and I have no intention of putting up with it any more. I have stopped for a while now. I used to be very easy going but some people just like to take advantage of others. They think that they are more important than anyone else.

Don't get me started on the parade pushers. I see them everyday, and I'm just appalled at how rude people are. A few weeks ago, I saw one family literally park themselves infront of another family that was sitting a half a centimeter behind the brass line an hour before the parade. The father in the second family got mad at me because I asked them to step to the side of the first family! I just said to him, "Sir, I apologize, but 1-this family was here first, and 2-you're standing in the middle of the parade route anyways. Step to their right side, and make sure you are behind that line for your safety." and the father said, "I'm going to report you to guest relations!" and I said, "That's fine sir. My name is Leslie, L-E-S-L-I-E, as you see on my nametag here, and be sure to say hi to Melissa for me. Have a MAGICAL day!" and walked off.

And most teenagers are morons. I don't know why, but they get so stupid when in groups. They'll take the strollers at the end of the night and race with them down Sunset, they'll shout random obscenities, climb over benches, everything you tell them 50 times not to, they do.

And the Brazillian tour groups are the worst. They are so disrespectful. A co-worker of mine was actually just telling me a story about an encounter a few days ago. She was saying how this one brazillian was standing infront of the tech booth, and a CM asked him to step back behind the line, and he flashed the camera right in her face! So since Annie was a house captain, she ran over and told him the same thing, and he did it to her! So she called for security, but nothing happened since he didn't threaten anyone or harm anyone.

When it's late and a child is overtired, overtired and obviously does not want to go on said ride and parent or parents are yelling at them and even at time will give them a wack and tell the the have to go on. This type of behavior from parents insure children will have a magical time.

I know what you mean! We were in line for RnRC this past June, and when we went into the room in front of the band, the crowd just stopped in the middle. The CM asked us to fill in all the available space, which my husband and I did. A man in the crowd started screaming at us and even screamed again at us when we were boarding (he was on the same car - just 3 rows ahead of us). We just kind of smiled and wished him a magical day.

Not exactly waiting in line, but I hate it when people with strollers/ wheelchairs think they can use these as a battering to push their way through the crowds.

No, it was SO awful for you to cut people in line to see your friend. Yeah, she probably shouldn't have thrown you on the ground, but she was right in calling you out on cutting and insisting that you stay behind her. In fact, in your #4 you even pointed out this sin yourself - regarding people who felt they earned cutting in line to complain.
