:)We know many famous Disney animated movies like "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and The Beast", "Pinocchio", "Snow White", "Fantasia", "Lion King" etc. but what underrated and under appreciated Disney movies do you love? For me its these...And I'm giving my reasons why.

The Great Mouse Detective- One of the Disney attempts to do a dark story. A great score by the work of pink panther composer Henry Mancini, and vincent price steals the show.

The Black Cauldron- Must I say.....Darkness is the way of making a PG cartoon?

Hercules- A twist on Greek myths, very clever choice. The music in this was great.

I must say 'The Great Mouse Detective' and 'The Black Cauldron' are among my favorites. I view them on a regular basis. I could not get into Hercules at all.

There are so many. Recent ones include Meet the Robinsons (I love time travel movies!) Bolt, and Home on the Range.
Home on the Range seems so "Old School" Disney animation to me. It's a little gem of an homage to the style of many shorts form the 50's and 60's

I am also rather fond of Rescuers Down Under, which is even better than it's predecessor, in animation, story and fun.

And I have a weird fondness for the Three Caballeros. I dunno, it's so wildly psychedelic and ahead of it's time. Plus, it's a cool travel pic.

Iccabod Crane the Legend of sleepy hollow was one movie that I thought was underated and I would also say The Brave Little Toaster.

Atlantis and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are my two very favorite animated features. Meet the Robinsons is also up there.

I have to update my list to incluse Treasure Planet as well...just saw it again, and had forgotten what a fun and witty little flick it is!

For me, here is a short list-

Brother Bear
Treasure Planet
Mulan
The Fox and The Hound
The Rescuers Down Under
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Oliver and Company ( not sure if it counts, as it was very successful back during original release...but i am listing it anyway!)

I have warmed to The Emporers' New Groove this past year...when i originally saw it i thought it was awful and made no sense whatsoever. Now i see it with different eyes and better understand what was happening.

The Black Cauldron is a great, dark 'adult' animation flick with some fab moments. I think it Disney released this story today it would have been much more successful then when it was originally released. With all the Lord of the Rings/Narnia style copycats being marketed these days, this pic would have fit right in.

The Great Mouse Detective is a gem. Ratigan does indeed steal the show. A very nicely executed effort. Basil is great too...all around nice pic to see every now and then.
