I know there's a list of some on Deb's site, but I was wondering what are your favorite overlooked things to do at WDW?

A couple of my favorites...
Riding the monorails just for fun
Hanging out on the beach at Poly
Fantasia Mini Golf

I would have to side with you on the "monorails-for-fun" thing. We do that just to take pics, relax, etc.

We like renting the watermice and canopy boats and cruising from Dixie Landings (yes, I said Dixie Landings) to DD and back.

We also like to take a day and just tour the other resorts. It's almost like going to the parks - with the scenery and variety.

how about the bus rides to and from the resort and parks!!! The first ride (besides the airplane ride for me) that starts my WDW vacation... well and the trip from the airport to the resort.. that's a ride too! :)

People watching in the parks. Sit on a bench and just check out the people around you. That and the parking lot trams. :hammer:

I'd have to say the Monorails. If they went to all four parks (which hopefully one day they will) I'd have to set aside half a day because I'd ride it the whole way out.

I do that too when I don't feel like walking for a couple minutes, just pop a seat somewhere and watch, and take in the fact that I'm chillin in WDW right now. Also I'd have to say the monorail for fun is a big one, and Winter Summerland mini golf, just cause I love that one and it's pretty hidden from the road.

The "maze" garden in back of the England area in World Showcase. Many people don't even realize that there is more to that country than the buildings lining the main walking street.

I'd say the Disney Trams are pretty fun, my two-year old loves riding in them and having the wind blown in his face. I think that is the fastest ride on property that he is allowed to go on. :)

At Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Countdown. Their performance times are not listed in the past guides, so unless to check with City Hall you will miss them. Also the Dapper Dans, same thing with their schedule. Lots of people will walk past whilst they perform, give them a glance and a smile then walk on their way. If you stick around and watch the set you will see four great entertainers and have quite a few chuckles. You may also get to chat with them.

At Animal Kingdom they have a system for putting the bachelor gorillas to bed. About half an hour to fifteen minutes before park closing time (check with a CM on the day to make sure when it is scheduled) they have trained three of the gorillas to sit at designated points, this allows the fourth, older gorilla to go to bed in peace. For sitting at these points the three boys are given treats to eat then they too head off to bed.

It's a great opportunity to see these delightful creature and get some wonderful photos:

If the session ends in time I then head over to the tigers in Asia as they can be quite active at that time getting ready for their evening meal :D

Is that where British Invasion performs? We went and watched them sing a few songs in February, but I didn't even notice a maze. Does someone have a picture of it??

Barnum - I love your list, and your photos!

BTW - Sorry for starting this duplicate thread, I didn't even realize another one similar was going on at the same time. I guess it was on page 2 and then someone bumped it up after I posted this, so I feel dumb. :brick:

I definitely agree with the monorail riding, one of my favorite things to do while visiting. Also visiting all of the different resorts is another enjoyable activity.
