I'm thankful for my parents, brothers (As much as I don't show it sometimes  ), friends, boyfriend, and that even though this whole Sept 11 thing, the country has still ben able to come together :)

i am thankful for the good health of my family, the roof over my head, and my ***y husband:animwink: . I see so many people complain about things; and they are just things. When you go from having everything to nothing like I have, you realize what's really important. My two boys are healthy and happy. And they still have their parents. The children of the victims of Sept.11 don't. We have food to eat, clothes on our backs and a descent house. So when I hear someone complain that they can't redecorate, or don't have money because they blow it keeping up with the Jones' I want to slap them and tell them to get real

I am thankful for one more holiday with my whole family. Even though my brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews weren't with us in person, I still know they are alive and well elsewhere.

In all probability, this is the last holiday I will have with both of my parents still living, and next year my daughter will be away at college. She may or may not make it home. Recent events have also reminded us of how fleeting our lives can be, and how our families can be shattered in a heartbeat. It has always been true; sometimes we just need a wake up call to remind us of the really important things in life!

well i'm in canada, so thanksgiving was over a month ago...so i had my "serious thankfuls" then...but now? i am thankful that my favorite canadian football team, the winnipeg blue bombers, are appearing in our national championship, the grey cup! they were 14-4 this season, best in the canadian football league, so they should win...if anyone down there wants to watch, it's on AmericaOne...some network i've never heard of but oh well

but a for real thankful, i am extremely thankful for this website, the boards, and especially all the hard work and unnecessary effort that steve puts into this site to make it enjoyable for us. i am also thankful for all of you on these boards for making it so fun

In my house, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the season of hope and thanks....

I am thankful for having two parents that are still here with me, and for my brother baby (even though he's hardly a baby anymore).... I'm thankful for my friends who check on me and find time to do silly things.... For my college roommate and her husband who invite me to their home and take such good care of me while I'm there.... I'm thankful for my job and my co-workers who worked so hard to make me more comfortable, and I'm thankful for the students who have come to accept my unique brand of educational looniness, including all the pet names I have for them....

And I am thankful for this site, for Steve who brings us all together, for those who held my hand and made me feel a little safer on September 11 and the days that followed... for the friends here who gave me support and encouragement while I made the big decisions: which job to seek, what to do with my energy, which resort to book at WDW... For those who gave guidance for my three WDW visits, whether it was pushing me to go on RnR or making sure I got to the airport on time....

Thank you to all of you. :)

love

Here it is, one year later! Yes, it was my last Thanksgiving with both of my parents;my father passed away last February. My daughter is scheduled to arrive tomorrow...I hope the weather cooperates! Interestingly, I have met two of the other posters..twice each! I even shared a villa with mightyduck for a weekend, and wdwcastwannabe really is a CM now...and trust me, he's even better looking in person! ;)

This was one of those threads that did not get very many responses on the forums, but my mailbox was filled by people responding to my post.

I just thought it might be interesting to "bump" it up, and to ask others to make additions. :)

My marraige, my family (that includes the cats & dog), my friends, my home, my health, my freedom, my job, food, clothing- I could go on and on, but then I would probably break Mr P's lenghty post record and that would not be very fair .

I'm with you, Debbie- most things people complain about are so inconsequential- life is too short!

Mom, this was neat that you bumped this thread!
One year later, I am no richer, but I still have alot to be thankful for. I am thankful my boys are still healthy. Our parents are still with us. My last grandparent alive got her wish, to spend eternity with my grandfather in January this year, and I'm glad we treated it as a celebration of their 50+ years together. I find myself looking back, remembering times when I was grandma's girl. I am thankful my $exy husband and I are still rock solid and how we grow together in everything we do. I am thankful God gives me the wisdom to see myself for who I am, see the things that need to change, and the wisdom to recognize life's simple pleasures.
The same friends I have who feel they are who they are, by the things that they have are still just that. But when the going gets tough having to be around them, I just repeat the Serenity Prayer over and over, and pray that one day they will know what true inner happiness, true love is, and how it feels to know your true authentic self.
