What are some 1st's for a child's first trip to Disney?

Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi everyone,

As I sit and wait, I can't stop myself and have started planning our little ones 1st birthday/1st trip to Disney World. We are projecting a post Memorial Day/First week of June trip in 2015. We are hoping for a stay at the Grand Floridian since we love that resort and we want a monorail resort. I know buses and strollers do not go hand in hand. :)

We have some 1st's already:

1st hair cut - even if just a snip/trim
1st Bday cake - a bday/smash cake
Meet Mickey on Main Street
Ride Dumbo - the one ride my DH and I have not gone on as we were waiting for Colin
Ride the Carousal
Do a silhouette
Get his ears

Does anyone have any other suggestions or things I am missing to commemorate the special trip?

Thank you so much!

We just did the haircut! (Did I post pics on FB? I can't even remember.) It was awesome. $19 I think, and we got ears, a certificate, a little bag filled w/her hair clippings & pixie dust, and all the pictures we could take. Well worth it, and the barbers are wonderful. Definitely do it!

Other firsts from K's first trip at 13 months (many mentioned already. And everything is technically a first, but these were some special ones for us.)
-First ornament
-Picture of the first time we walked down Main Street together (wish I'd had an early ADR so it was empty.)
-First Mickey Balloon
-First ride (I think we picked Dumbo!)
-First character meal (CRT)
-First carousel ride had to be on Cindy's horse (you know the one!)
-First ears
-And this one's not so much a first, but make sure you hold him up like Simba for a picture. ;)

OH I love the simba pic idea!!! Love it! I don't think the hair cut pics went up on FB but i will double check. I love that they do so much for a great price! :)
First Mickey Balloon is a great idea too - considering the balloon is so important to us! And I think first character meal will be Chef Mickey for a smash cake! :)hee hee
I just hope our little man isn't a total baldy! If he is, we might need to wait until 2nd trip to do 1st hair cut! :)

@disneygirl76 how r u feeling when's that baby coming!?!

Hanging in there! 10 days now - maybe less then a week. They currently have June 5th on the books for the big D-Day (which used to stand for Disney Day but now means something else!) But when I go Tuesday, it could be bumped up to June 1st. EEK! So excited......and ready!

We've took our two children to Disney World booth within their first years born. We got each one the custom Xmas ornament as week as an embroidered stocking with their names and an embroidered bath towel. They both love them.

I suggest a character breakfast early in the morning at Cape May Cafe. Your kid will get a lot of one on one time with the characters. We went for the first time slot in the morning and it was fairly quiet for the first hour. Minnie sat at our table.

Make sure you do not take them on any dark indoor rides as their first ride or they will be scared of. everything else (happened to me with my nephew).

I would definitely do a Christmas ornament and also pick a spot where you can get a picture each time you take him back!

Since you're planning to do some character meals etc, I would get a photo mat and have the characters sign it for him (instead of an autograph book) and then you can put a picture of him in it when you get home and frame for him to keep forever!

Also, if there is a special Disney book that you read to him over the first year, take a copy for that character to sign. There are tons of Disney Golden books these days.
