What activity at WDW is so over priced that you won't do it?

I'll pay for the parties so long as it isn't on a night I expect them to sell out because then its very crowded and not worth it.... But to me the dessert viewing of fireworks have gotten to cheap on the dessert to make it worth while... Also not a fan of any of the higher end restaurants especially the "ethnic" ones because the food is really always a tamed milder version of the food it is supposed to be yet priced at a level that makes you gag.... Of course there are also some low end items that are just way out of whack with reality - corn dogs comes to mind because while I will pay a higher than normal price for a good corn dog at a state fair, Disney's version aren't that good but cost more than the over priced state fair corn dogs....

In their defence, at least for the Tomorrowland Terrrace viewing party, they've actually improved it. We went last Wednesday and while the assigned seating is a thing of the past, they've moved the tables to the edge of the rail so you dont get the bum rushes annd blocked viewing that was present before. They've also decreased the amount of pastry, added more fruit and ice cream. Now for the unfortunate folks who reserve the garden view seating its not really worth it IMHO.

Man, that's one of my favorite new places to eat at WDW. I thought the food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic, and the prices were really reasonable.
We ate there on Saturday and while the decor, cast and appetisers were great, the entrees were not good. I had the chicken noodle bowl and almost died of boredom, while my wife had the pork shu mai and traded for my boredom because it was a dried out plank with too much red food dye... it left a stain on my slacks.

I went with a large group and got to see/try a bunch of entrees. I wasn't a fan of the char siu pork either -- too dry, I agree -- but the steak (with a great chimchurri sauce), the lamb, and especially the whole fried fish were very worthwhile. Many similar entrees to what you get at Tiffins but at a much lower price.

I'm guessing you've never eaten at the restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, at Tiffins, Skipper Canteen, Tangierine Cafe or other excellent "ethnic" restaurants; is there one you had in mind that was poor? I've heard very mixed things about Spice Road Table.
Actually the top of my list for bad value would be Jiko and Boma at the Animal Kingdom lodge... If you enjoy them, I'm glad but if you've ever had real food from Africa you find that the options at Disney are really just watered down version.... Would also put il Mulino and Monsieur Paul towards the top.... As for Spice Road while I wouldn't rate them as great representations of Mediterranean food if you stay with the smaller items they aren't over the top bad value like the aforementioned places.... In the end people giving opinions on food is probably one of the least useful things in the world because we all have different tastes and expectations based on what we have been raised on and experienced so for me its perfectly fine that I love a particular place and someone else things its awful.... I simply see certain places at Disney as being really bad value, not that their food isn't perfectly edible because aside from Cinderella's breakfast and anything at Be Our Guest I've rarely had food that was just disgusting, just way over priced for what it is.

I think our last big fail for a dessert viewing was the EPCOT illuminations viewing... my kids were expecting to be able to at least pig out on Mickey ice cream bars... But those were replaced with cheap ice semi-melted ice cream you had to scoop yourself and then add some low end sprinkles and such to.

I went for a quick weekend before a cruise in September. I had some Disney gift cards and I was thinking of going to MNSSHP. I just couldn't do it, even with the AP discount. I put the gift cards on my account on the cruise instead, gift cards well-spent, imo. :)

Parasailing. We had it booked today but it got cancelled due to winds, when asked if I wanted to reschedule I said no. I wasn't thrilled about paying that much in the first place, but thought it would be fun to do here. I think the winds were a sign that I should keep the money in my pocket.

Deluxe resorts. We only sleep at our hotel so the huge price difference can be better spent on stuff and food.:hungry::inlove:

We have been 3 times for Christmas Day. When I was looking at prices to go again and stay at POP where we stayed before, the prices have gotten too high. The prices at that time of year have just gone to high even for a value.
Disney is just pricing some people out.

Well, I have, but still really enjoy Boma. I found a lot of very authentic flavors there and thought it was a great value for the variety of offerings. But to each his own.

I'd say deluxe resorts & dessert parties, but both are on the plan for my friend's Disney wedding, so I can't say that I'll never do them. Instead, I guess I'll have to go with cabanas.

I WILL pay for the christmas or the halloween events. We usually pick one or the other each year... BUT... I have never paid for a disney property hotel and typically spend under $150 a night on a giant 4 bedroom 2 bath villa at world quest villas right outside the parks. I would LOVE to stay at a disney hotel ONCE so i wont say i will never do that. BUT.. i will never pay for any cupcake party, villian club show, or anything more than $20 on top of my ticket price. If I ever do splurge on a disney hotel i sure as heck wont fork over cash for someone to come decorate it etc.... if i want to decorate i will stop at a party city and tell the kids to hit the pool for an hour lol. No cabanas at magic kingdom. no character breakfast. no princess makeovers. PLEASE

Someone mentioned disney quest... i will go to disney quest, but NOT on the same trip as the regular parks. Disney quest is a completely separate all inclusive disney springs visit.

i pay enough for sub par food at magic kingdom than to pay for anything else on top of it lol

Pretty much any "after hours" event that they close the parks early for. I paid once to get in and I aint gonna pony up more benjamins for the privilege of staying for "free" candy and a parade.

I think for me it's not so much "what's over-priced" but "what's enough value that you'd pay for it"?

And my answer is nothing. I pay my hefty admission to enjoy all I can at the parks and I don't feel I'm missing out.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Going to the parks.
Beat me to it.
Honestly, though, years ago a friend and I went down to audition and were too broke to actually enter the parks, but we had a lot of fun resort-hopping and going to Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk.
Nowadays I'll go just because I still know enough folks around there to get in for free.

I'm just curious, so many people saying park admission, but if the thread is things that are so expensive you won't do it, what do you do then when you go to WDW?

Either can't go or just catch a movie at Disney Spring or go mini golfing or something. I dunno. Be creative! o-o
