Trip Report We're on "Vay-Cay-Tion!" A Sept./Oct. TR

Hello everyone, and welcome to my very first trip report! We went to Disney 9/26-10/1, hopped on the Disney Dream 10/1-10/4, and hit up DTD and MNSSHP 10/4. We flew back home Monday morning. We had a whirlwind of a trip planned!

*A little note here. We accidentally left our camera bag (with the DSLR, 2 lenses, memory cards, and my digital camera charger) on a bus at MK. We did not notice until we got off the second bus we took to the Poly. We literally were back at MK not even 30 minutes after we left it (maybe around 8:15am, we had breakfast reservations at Kona). They sent out a radio call to all buses, and of course no one had it. Pretty sure either the bus driver or another person stole it. I was SUPER bummed and many tears were shed from me. I know Cody felt super terrible, we didn’t even have that camera a year I believe. We lost a lot of pictures, including a video of Aubs’ first time seeing the castle. We called the lost and found at TTC more times than I can remember. Unfortunately, after a week they close out the ticket, so i’m pretty sure the camera is long gone. I hope whoever has it turns it in, or drops it so they can’t use it. Luckily, I have my phone pics and the ones off my digital camera before it died. My parents also have pictures on their phones they took. And of course, I took my laptop on vacation JUST to be able to load the pics off the camera everyday. Did that happen? Of course not. But what can you do? There are many worse things that could have happened on our trip, and I am extremely thankful for the pictures that I do have. I also need to purchase the Photopass photos still, so i’ll add those in later *

So, with that sadness out of the way, its time to get on with the report!

When-Sept. 26-Oct. 5
Where- Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney Dream, Pop Century
Who- Me (Morgan), Husband (Cody), Daughter (Aubreigh, we call her Aubs for short). My parents, and Cody’s mom.
What- Family Vacay! We also celebrated Cody’s college graduation! It was Aubs’ first trip to Disney, and my mother in laws first trip since the 70’s. Last time she went she stayed in the Contemporary and the only park was the MK. She was way overdue for a trip! And my parents hadn’t been since 2004.

Day 1: Travel/Check In/DTD/MK

My day started super super early. Like stupid early. Why? Well, the night before I take a vacation I can never sleep. I tossed and turned for maybe 2 hours before finally drifting off around, oh 11pm? At 12:45ish, Aubs comes into my room. I hear “mommy, mommy, hey mommy, there’s a fly in the bathroom.” Oh dear goodness child, it is a FLY. So, guess what? Now i’m wide awake. I try to get her to go back to bed, but she doesn’t want to go. Honestly, I don’t feel like fighting with her about it tonight, so I put her on the couch and she was out in about 1 minute. Hmm. I go in her bathroom and low and behold, there is a dead fly in the toilet lol. Sorry, no pic of that!

Anyway, I take a shower and get ready. The alarms are set to go off at 4am. I blow dry and straighten my hair, do my makeup, get dressed then hang around till about 4. Get Cody up and make sure he gets in the shower, get Aubs up and dressed. In laws get here at 5:00 to get us to the airport by 5:30am. Cool! (FIL took us to the airport)

I don’t know why, but MIL (she drove there) took some weird back way to get to the airport. This stressed me out big time! We made it a little after 5:30am.

Check out this blurry pic of Memphis International Airport. Woo.

We said our goodbyes to FIL (aka Papaw) and headed in to check our bags! That was quick and painless (Memphis Airport is rarely ever busy), and went to wait by our gate. We grabbed some breakfast and didn’t have to wait long until boarding began at 6:30

We’re ready!

My parents and MIL!

The flight was great, and we landed at MCO a little early!

Heading to DME! We had a little wait in line for DME, but it wasn’t bad

They say its a 45 minute ride to Disney property, but it totally isn’t. Maybe 25-30. At least to me it seemed that way! The time flew by!

Yay! We’re on our way! Except MIL isn’t looking at the camera!

We’re here! This was the best I could get! We were near the back of the bus.

Hello Caribbean Beach sign that you can barely see! On the way to CBR, we got a text that rooms weren’t ready yet, darn.

We arrived at the Custom House, and went to the check in line, which took forever because they had like 2 people working the online check in counter. The family in front of us was NOT happy about that either! Geez! Anyways, we got checked in and given what location our room was in. We were in Aruba, building 56. Only bummer was that the bridge was out that connects Aruba and Jamaica to Old Port Royale. They did have a van shuttle and pontoon boat that helped people across. It ended up being not a big deal.

We headed to Old Port Royale after for lunch. Sorry, no pics. We were all starving! I had a burger and it was good.

After, we headed to DTD for Aubs’ BBB appointment at 3pm! We headed out around 1:15pm

Cody took a monorail to the TTC to see if the camera bag had been turned in. Nope :(.

Hello, Magic Kingdom! The color is a little weird with these because I had to brighten them up! It was a beautiful (and HOT) morning!

We had some time before our first FP+, so we explored the Emporium! (it was also nice to be out of the heat!)

I made Cody put these on for a photo :D It was his grad trip after all!

Fun Halloween merchandise

We still had some time, so headed to Adventureland!

Aubs spotted Aladdin's Carpet Ride, so that was our first ride of the day!

Then we had another meltdown. Aubs had spotted Aladdin and Jasmine. Their line was closed :(

So we headed to something that would make her a happy child again! Jungle Cruise! This was our first FP+

It really was a beautiful day today. (just so dang HOT!!)

We had a great skipper!

Everybody with me now! It's THE Backside of Water! :hilarious:

I envied these elephants. The pool was sounding like a fantastic idea as the day went on..

After Jungle Cruise, we went back to get in line to meet Aladdin and Jasmine. We were about 15 minutes early and got close to the front of the line. Yay! Luckily we were under the awning in the shade. I felt bad for the people in the sun!

They had some real cute Jasmine merchandise!

Waiting, waiting, waiting..

Finally!

Aladdin said the cutest thing to Aubs! He bent down to say hello and took her hand. He then said "Do you trust me?" :inlove::inlove:

And here's the Photopass pics

Aladdin and Jasmine were totally adorable together! They were both so so sweet to Aubs!

Our next FP+ was for BTMRR, so we headed that way!

Me, mom in law, and Cody rode first while Aubs watched people on Splash Mountain with my parents (she loved watching them come down the big drop! and she sooo wanted to ride!)

BTMRR!

50 minute wait. We waited less than 10 :D

Back row! Score!

O.M.G. Best ride EVER! My mother in law was HILARIOUS. She screamed the whole time! Not just one long scream, but a bunch of small high pitched ones. I. was. dying!!! :joyfull:

Next up, it was time for some refreshments!
Hello, beautiful!

We had to stop by the Tangled bathrooms! The whole area really is adorable, but I wish they had done something more with Tangled besides bathrooms. I love the movie! They should totally have Mother Gothel out during Halloween!

Winnie the Pooh was next! Aubs enjoyed the queue!

Winnie the Pooh was cute, but I could tell Aubs was beginning to get really tired (we all were honestly). But we had one more FP+ to use before we left for the afternoon.

Mom in law did not want to ride (I think BTMRR did her in haha), so Cody, my parents, and I headed to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!!

I was so excited to finally ride this! Last time we were at Disney, they were still building this.

It was a fun ride! But I do agree it was too short. However it was fun to ride something new!

After our ride, Aubs was DONE. So we began to make our way out of the park.

Can't help but take another pic as we walked by

The band was out!

I spy Mary Poppins!

See ya later, MK

We spent our afternoon at the pool! Aubs loved the kids pool! We stayed there for about 2 hours then went back to our room for naps!

I'm back! Life got in the way! Between 2 accounting tests, 1 accounting project, and 2 math tests I am finally done for the semester! And I had a position change at work! Phew!! Going to try to have this finished before Christmas!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After swimming and naps, we had dinner reservations tonight for Ohana! We took a bus to MK and either a bus or monorail to the Poly. I can't remember now!

We had about a 5 minute wait

We were seated at a huge round table for like 10-12 people. It was nice to have space but this was A LOT of space! We had to talk extra loud haha. However our view was awesome!!!

First up, bread and salad!

Soooo good!!!

Potstickers and chicken wings next!

Stir fry noodles and veggies!

That broccoli was delicious!

Next came all the steak, chicken, and shrimp! My favorite was chicken, followed by steak, then shrimp! All were fantastic though!

They asked if Aubs wanted any mac and cheese or fries. We said sure. They brought so much!

Cody went and got her a lei!

Dessert time! I WANT IT NOW!

Aubs got her dessert. She was a happy child!

Nighttime view of the castle. Looked a lot better in person!

We wanted to try and make the MSEP, but it was too late and we needed to get Aubs back to the hotel before the fireworks.

Mom in law wanted to get the MK Starbucks mug, so Cody, mom in law, and I decided to go to MK for a little bit and grab the mug. My parents loved the Poly and wanted to explore so they took Aubs and wandered around before heading to the monorail, then bus.

Took the boat to MK! It was a nice relaxing ride after such a huge meal!

MNSSHP! Even though the colors look like Christmas

I want one of these for my front door

Went into Main Street Bakery to look at all the treats!

Starbucks!

After getting our mugs! (Yay 4 of 4!!) We decided to go ride a few things!

Caught some of Wishes in Futureworld

Buzz was first! But the queue was so disgusting! So much trash everywhere!

We also rode Peoplemover before calling it a night and heading back to the resort. We had an early morning the next day! Mom in law was heading back home, while the rest of us were heading to Port Canaveral to board the Dream!!

DAY SIX - DISNEY DREAM!

EEK EEK EEK!!! Today is the day I so looked forward to the most! Cruise day!!!

Mom in law caught MDE early for her flight back home. She wasn't up for cruising this time. (But she is booked for our cruise in 2017 :D)

I spend the morning doing some last minute packing and making sure I had all of our documents ready. I took the shuttle over to Old Port Royale to grab breakfast for us and to browse the gift shop.

Checking out the Vera's!

Waiting for the shuttle back to Aruba

A little before 10 we went to Customs House to check out and wait for our ride!

We used Black Car Orlando for our transport, and they were great! No complaints! Except they didn't bring the correct carseat for Aubs. But we made it work! They had the correct one on the ride home thankfully.

Ahhhh!! There she is!!!

Luckily we beat this little raincloud and didn't get rained on

Can't tell but it was pouring down rain

Waiting to check in!

They gave us a letter saying that due to the hurricane we would not make it to Nassau. They weren't sure about Castaway Cay yet.

When we completed check in we were able to board right away. I thought we had a decent boarding group number for checking in around 11:30ish!

No pics when we first boarded, was too busy taking it all in!! We were quickly greeted by a CM who welcomed us aboard. She told me where I needed to go get Princess tickets at, so while I got those my parents, Cody, and Aubs went to find the pools and lunch!

I took these waiting in line at the Port Adventures desk (Deck 5 I believe)

This line took FOREVER. They were having some issues with the printers. But I got what I needed, Princess tickets and Anna & Elsa tickets!

I stopped by one of the bathrooms. Selfie in the fun Mickey mirror! I was so excited lol

I went up to the pool deck to find my family!

My first Cabanas visit!

Sorry its of eaten food, I forgot to take a picture and I really wanted to remember what I had!

Pizza, lamb, asparagus, fried rice, mashed potatoes, and some fries. What a meal haha! Everything I had was pretty tasty!

They were playing Frozen

Nemo's Reef (which I wasn't too pleased with)

... I mean, this area was cute, but SO slippery! I figured it would have some sort of grip floor so the little ones wouldn't fall (saw a lot of them fall, Aubs too!) And there were bigger kids who were kinda rough. One kid ruined Aubs' experience on the small slide in there, after that she didn't want to go near it.

She had fun, but looking at this picture now I'm so glad her little fingers didn't get smashed

I was finally able to get Aubs away from the pool around 2 so we could go put all our stuff in our staterooms!

We were on deck 9 in room 9664. It was a Category 07A Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Navigators Verandah. We loved this room! Great location, not a lot of noise. Loved it!!

Split baths

Our view of the port

After a little bit it was time for the muster drill! Quick muster drill picture!

We went up top for the sail away party!

Cody's silly face because he forgot his sunglasses

I was watching the webcam and grabbed this screen shot before putting my phone on airplane mode

My mom and I each got a drink of the day. Mine alcoholic and hers non alcoholic. Aubs promptly stole my moms! We got some looks from others but hey hers was unleaded! We didn't let the silent judgement from others bother us lol

This just screams "I'm on vacation!", right? :hilarious:

This would have been better if it was a full drink :D

Sailing away!

Nasa. The guy we were standing next to gave us all sorts of information about Nasa. It was cool, just wish I remembered what he had said!

After, we went back to our rooms to get cleaned up for dinner. We had main seating and our first dinner on board was at Animators Palate! :hungry:

I liked the carpet design by the elevators

Dinner time!

Love the bread bowl and butter knife!

Aubs loved all the Nemo stuff!

She was blown away by the animation I think haha

Aubs dinner

I had the black truffle pasta for my appetizer and the filet for dinner. Both were so delicious!

Adorable dessert menu!

My dad and I had the sampler, mom had the crunchy walnut cake, Cody the cookies and cream sundae, and Aubs strawberry ice cream! We all enjoyed it!

Crush stopped by to talk to us during dinner. He asked me where I was from, I told him Memphis. He asked how people said hello to each other in Memphis. My mom said (very quietly I might add) "waasssssuuuuuup" and he heard it! They must have really good microphones in there! I said we said "hey y'all", but of course when Crush moved to the next table he said "people from Memphis say, waaaasuuuuuup"! LOL! It was hilarious, maybe one of those things you just had to be there for.

Bye, turtles!

After dinner we shopped and hung out in the atrium

Dancing to the live music

Can't resist another picture

After a while we headed to our rooms

Aubs loved our first towel animal!

She loved her bed!

I miss this bed. Best sleep ever!

Tonight, I had one major thing I needed to do. Laundry!! Cody and Aubs crashed early so I roamed the ship while I waited on laundry to finish.

Elevator!

Funnel at night. So pretty!

Pretty sure they had a football game on Funnel vision

Currents Bar

Shutters!

People still in the atrium around 10:30pm

Pretty sure this is Deck 4

For funsies, this is the laundry room on Deck 8. It was much closer to our room on Deck 9!

Only bad thing about these.. I hit my back on the dryer like 3 times while I was loading it.

Last pic of the night before I went to sleep. I want this for my house!

DAY SEVEN - A DAY AT SEA!

Today was supposed to be our Nassau day, but because of the hurricane we could not make it. Which was fine with us! We had planned to stay on the ship anyway!

Good morning ocean! We were off the coast of FL this morning, near Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

We had a verandah breakfast party! I had ordered room service the night before. Not shown are the bagels and croissants!

We were able to see some ships leaving the port in FL

After breakfast, we had Princess tickets at 9:45am.

Ready to meet more princesses!

Snow White

Cinderella

Belle

& finally, Rapunzel!

Had to stop by for a picture on our way to Animators Palate!

Time to meet the Frozen sisters!

I must say, AP looked adorable like this!

This was our table the night before! Hooray for table 11!

Anna & Elsa!

So cute!

Stopped by Deck 4 (maybe?) after the Princesses!

Time to go watch a cooking demonstration! I'm pretty sure we were in D Lounge?
We watched the assistant pastry chef make an Apple Strudel!

It was tasty! But would've been better warm with some vanilla ice cream!

She loves her Daddy!

We went back to our rooms to get ready to head to the pools!

Stopped by my parents room. They were in an inside room, I believe 8675? Deck 8!

They didn't have a split bath. But still nice!

So according to my pics we did some wandering before we hit the pool!

I got a coffee at Vista Cafe, but it was wayyy too sweet!

First I had the mushroom tart and romaine salad. The mushroom tart was good, but the salad was amazing!! I crave that thing daily!

Cody had the lobster ravioli and enjoyed it (pretty sure my parents had this too!)

I had prime rib for dinner! Yummy!

My dad had the prime rib also, and my mom got the scallops. They both shared their meals and enjoyed them also

Cody got the sea bass and it was hands down the BEST entree. SOOO good!

Dessert menu!

I had the warm sticky date pudding and it was delicious!

Mom had the sampler

Behind us. This restaurant was so adorable

Our brain teaser. We had to figure out how to make the three 10's into 950 by drawing only 1 line.

Spoiler: we didn't figure it out haha. The answer was simple though. You were supposed to draw a line on top of the second 1. So it literally spelled out 10 TO 10. Which on a clock is 9:50. Cool!
As you can see in this picture, we tried and failed haha. This was before we got the correct answer

Our server did a fancy trick with a wine bottle, toothpicks, and utensils!

She made me take her picture here.

Ceiling!

Enchanted Garden was my favorite restaurant for my meal, but Animators Palate took the cake for decor!

This was our after dinner view

Ready for the Pirate Party!

I took this screen shot to remember how ridiculous Mickey looks with a mustache lol!

PIRATE PARTY - I have no pics! We watched from the upper deck and we all enjoyed it. I don't have any pictures becauseeee me and Cody wanted to ride the Aquaduck! Which we did twice! No line either time!

Afterwards, we went to change real quick then went to the Atrium to meet Daisy!

Aubs enjoyed dancing to the music every night!

Tonight was Villians Tonight! We all went, but me and Aubs ended up leaving early. She wasn't into it with the loud noises and some fireworks. We killed time in the shops. My parents and Cody said they liked it though!

Also, before the show, our cruise director (pretty sure it was Brent? Brett?) said we WOULD be making it to Castaway Cay tomorrow! Hooray!! We wouldn't dock until 10:30am since the island did sustain some damage. But who cares? We were gonna make it!!

Tonights towel animal!

Our room steward had a surprise for Aubs tonight - princess sheets! She LOVED this so much! It was such a sweet thing for him to do!

Super blurry cruise ship waiting to watch the fireworks

We stayed in the room with Aubs, and hoped we may be able to see some fireworks from our verandah, and we were able to!

My parents watched the show from up top. They really enjoyed it! And they said there were more cruise ships they saw in the distance watching.

We ended the night relaxing before our exciting day tomorrow! Pretty sure we also ordered a small pizza from room service (like we didn't have enough food already!)

If I get some free time tomorrow, i'll start on our Castaway Cay day! If not, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!! Thanks for reading!
