Trip Report We're on "Vay-Cay-Tion!" A Sept./Oct. TR

Hello everyone, and welcome to my very first trip report! We went to Disney 9/26-10/1, hopped on the Disney Dream 10/1-10/4, and hit up DTD and MNSSHP 10/4. We flew back home Monday morning. We had a whirlwind of a trip planned!

*A little note here. We accidentally left our camera bag (with the DSLR, 2 lenses, memory cards, and my digital camera charger) on a bus at MK. We did not notice until we got off the second bus we took to the Poly. We literally were back at MK not even 30 minutes after we left it (maybe around 8:15am, we had breakfast reservations at Kona). They sent out a radio call to all buses, and of course no one had it. Pretty sure either the bus driver or another person stole it. I was SUPER bummed and many tears were shed from me. I know Cody felt super terrible, we didn’t even have that camera a year I believe. We lost a lot of pictures, including a video of Aubs’ first time seeing the castle. We called the lost and found at TTC more times than I can remember. Unfortunately, after a week they close out the ticket, so i’m pretty sure the camera is long gone. I hope whoever has it turns it in, or drops it so they can’t use it. Luckily, I have my phone pics and the ones off my digital camera before it died. My parents also have pictures on their phones they took. And of course, I took my laptop on vacation JUST to be able to load the pics off the camera everyday. Did that happen? Of course not. But what can you do? There are many worse things that could have happened on our trip, and I am extremely thankful for the pictures that I do have. I also need to purchase the Photopass photos still, so i’ll add those in later *

So, with that sadness out of the way, its time to get on with the report!

When-Sept. 26-Oct. 5
Where- Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney Dream, Pop Century
Who- Me (Morgan), Husband (Cody), Daughter (Aubreigh, we call her Aubs for short). My parents, and Cody’s mom.
What- Family Vacay! We also celebrated Cody’s college graduation! It was Aubs’ first trip to Disney, and my mother in laws first trip since the 70’s. Last time she went she stayed in the Contemporary and the only park was the MK. She was way overdue for a trip! And my parents hadn’t been since 2004.

Day 1: Travel/Check In/DTD/MK

My day started super super early. Like stupid early. Why? Well, the night before I take a vacation I can never sleep. I tossed and turned for maybe 2 hours before finally drifting off around, oh 11pm? At 12:45ish, Aubs comes into my room. I hear “mommy, mommy, hey mommy, there’s a fly in the bathroom.” Oh dear goodness child, it is a FLY. So, guess what? Now i’m wide awake. I try to get her to go back to bed, but she doesn’t want to go. Honestly, I don’t feel like fighting with her about it tonight, so I put her on the couch and she was out in about 1 minute. Hmm. I go in her bathroom and low and behold, there is a dead fly in the toilet lol. Sorry, no pic of that!

Anyway, I take a shower and get ready. The alarms are set to go off at 4am. I blow dry and straighten my hair, do my makeup, get dressed then hang around till about 4. Get Cody up and make sure he gets in the shower, get Aubs up and dressed. In laws get here at 5:00 to get us to the airport by 5:30am. Cool! (FIL took us to the airport)

I don’t know why, but MIL (she drove there) took some weird back way to get to the airport. This stressed me out big time! We made it a little after 5:30am.

Check out this blurry pic of Memphis International Airport. Woo.

We said our goodbyes to FIL (aka Papaw) and headed in to check our bags! That was quick and painless (Memphis Airport is rarely ever busy), and went to wait by our gate. We grabbed some breakfast and didn’t have to wait long until boarding began at 6:30

We’re ready!

My parents and MIL!

The flight was great, and we landed at MCO a little early!

Heading to DME! We had a little wait in line for DME, but it wasn’t bad

They say its a 45 minute ride to Disney property, but it totally isn’t. Maybe 25-30. At least to me it seemed that way! The time flew by!

Yay! We’re on our way! Except MIL isn’t looking at the camera!

We’re here! This was the best I could get! We were near the back of the bus.

Hello Caribbean Beach sign that you can barely see! On the way to CBR, we got a text that rooms weren’t ready yet, darn.

We arrived at the Custom House, and went to the check in line, which took forever because they had like 2 people working the online check in counter. The family in front of us was NOT happy about that either! Geez! Anyways, we got checked in and given what location our room was in. We were in Aruba, building 56. Only bummer was that the bridge was out that connects Aruba and Jamaica to Old Port Royale. They did have a van shuttle and pontoon boat that helped people across. It ended up being not a big deal.

We headed to Old Port Royale after for lunch. Sorry, no pics. We were all starving! I had a burger and it was good.

After, we headed to DTD for Aubs’ BBB appointment at 3pm! We headed out around 1:15pm

Once we finished our ice cream we wandered around a little bit more.

Checking out Tren-D!

Continuing on to other shops. Disney Vera's! :inlove:

I really like this display for some reason

We finished checking out the shops and started to make our way out of DTD. It was around 8:45pm or so.

And OMG at the amount of PEOPLE coming in when we left! AK closed at 6 that day, HS at 7:30, and there was a Halloween party tonight. Where do all the people go? DTD of course! Wow! SOO GLAD we were on our way out!!

When we got back to our room, you could hear Illuminations fireworks outside. Here is our view from right outside our room

Aubs kept asking if it was fireworks. We said nooo, its just a thunderstorm. She bought it. ;) Got her a bath and she snuggled up in her bed again. We had a great day!

Here's a couple pictures of the AK Starbucks mug so you can see all the sides!

Tomorrow, we tackle Hollywood Studios! (and me and Cody get our date night!)

DAY THREE - HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

We slept in a little bit this morning. I think everyone enjoyed that!

Some more morning bubble fun before heading out!

We have arrived! Even though you can barely see the sign!

Had to stop for the bubble party with the CM!

We headed towards Starbucks for breakfast!

Ugh, I don't like how dark this picture is. Oh well!

Woo! Breakfast!

We headed towards our first FP+ of the day, Tower of Terror!

My mom and mom in law were not interested in riding this. They took Aubs somewhere, not sure where. This was going to be my Dad's first ride on ToT!

ToT was fantastic as usual. My dad really enjoyed it!! Yay!! And he said he'd do it again! Double yay!!

Checking out the merchandise!
I thought these were creepy and interesting

I really loved this sweatshirt. I wish I would've bought it! Next time!

Because he's my weirdo and I love him

Outside the shop! Cool!

We made or way towards Pixar Place for our next FP+, Toy Story!

Made a pit stop for some water. Cody decided to be silly!

And this is what you get for letting me take your picture! I put you allllll over the interwebs!! :hilarious:

Inside!

She's ready to ride!

Me and my dad! And the CM's hand haha! He was great!

I didn't take any pictures on the ride, because it was my first time riding it! I had a blast it was so fun!

I rode with Aubs. Our scores were not so great lol. She didn't understand you had to try and hit the objects. She had a blast regardless!!

Ok, so I'm reading both places, and I forgot to mention on the other site (and I'm too lazy to go back!) that I loved your ToT pics! It is my most favorite attraction/ride ever!! I enjoyed seeing some of the new merchandise and can't wait to actually see it in June. Aubs is soooo adorable!

Glad Hollywood STudios was a great day! Some great pics of the interior of TOT and I loved that Aubs got to play with the bubble gun! We are so excited to go to Disney Springs and hit Ghiradelli! Indulgent and big portions but worth the splurge once a year!

Lol! Thanks! I wish I had the ones from the big camera but oh well. The merchandise was great! I wish I would have bought something. Next time! I think that sweatshirt was $50+ so that's probably why I didn't buy it

Yes it was a great day! Lots more to come from HS too! May not be until tomorrow or possibly next week til I post it though. Ghiradelli was really good but it wasn't the best ice cream I've ever had. Still delicious though! Aubs LOVES bubbles. Cody bought her that light up bubble gun our first night at MK.

After TSMM...

At some point this day, we stopped by Backlot Express (I think?) for a snack and some drinks. Aubs found some friends! Disney ducks!

It was now time for our final FP+, Frozen Sing Along! Now, I wasn't too excited for this one. I liked Frozen, but its not my fav. Aubs liked it (but not as much as I thought she would). I figured it would be a fun option for her.

And that's all the pictures I have for Frozen! I had some really great ones on the big camera!

Umm this show was actually really really cute!!! I loved historians! The girl, oh my goodness, SO funny! She talked in a high pitched voice, and all I could think of was the "baby hands" skit with Kristen Wiig on SNL! She was so funny to the guy who played Kristoff (who was verrrrrry nice looking ;)) she keep touching his arm or smelling him. Hilarious!

I had another must-do on my list today. Get a cupcake from Starring Rolls!!

I wouldn't get any of these they have out. I just cringe at how many little fingers have touched these. Plus I saw some fruit flies around. No thanks :hungover:

Get ready, I'm about to make alllll y'all want a cupcake!

I picked the peanut butter and chocolate cupcake to go, so I could have it later for dessert :hungry:

Oooooohhhhh yeeeesssssss

I know mom in law got a snack from Starring Rolls too, and I got Cody a chocolate croissant. I think my parents and Aubs shared a bucket of popcorn. We had our snack here

I took this while everyone had their snacks (I feel like we've snacked a lot today!)

Next up, The Voyage of the Little Mermaid (we picked this FP+ earlier today at the kiosk. Can't remember when)

Alright. This show lasted about 5 minutes. I don't know if they had technical difficulties this day or not. But geez, this show either needs a major refresher or just get rid of it. We should've saw BatB but our timing never worked out. We probably won't see this show again unless its updated.

A Disney Jr. show was about to start when we got out of Ariel, so we headed there next!

I guess this is the only picture I have. Needless to say, this was a major hit for my 3 year old! Disney Jr. is constantly on at my house!

My dad was wanting a Star Wars t-shirt, so we figured may as well go ride Star Tours!!

I forget where we went but it was great!

My dad also had no luck at finding a Star Wars shirt. A lot had the "villian" characters on them (Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, etc), not a lot with the good guys! Or they were really weird shirts. Not something my dad would ever wear. So now for his Christmas gift this year i'm on the look out for SW shirt!

We hit up Muppets next. No pictures :( Aubs kept taking her 3D glasses off to watch. She liked it, just not the ending. Muppets is always a fun show though! My sister and I quote the Swedish Chef often. He's our fav!

We had a 5:40 ADR at Mama Melrose for dinner.

I went in at 5 to go ahead and check us in. They said it would be a little bit since they were running 30-45 minutes behind schedule. Ugh. Ok. There were also lots of unhappy people in here trying to get a walk up reservation. Oops.

I got a pager and went to explore some shops! (FYI their pagers work in the Muppets shop and the Christmas shop!)

While we were waiting it began to rain. Of course when our pager went off (at 5:50!) it started raining even harder, and I didn't know where some of our party was!

No worries, we tracked everyone down, even though me and my dad were soaked from the rain! Lol

Inside!

She was pretty cranky but you can't tell  Her dinner consisted of bread and fruit. Typical Aubs.

We got our drinks and breadsticks to start. They were ok, nothing special. But we gobbled them up because we were starving!

Cody ordered the Margherita Pizza! He said it was good

I ordered the Chicken Campanelle. I doesn't look like a lot in the picture but there was a ton of pasta! It was very good!

Mom in law got the Saltimbocca (which was pretty good also)

My dad got the Spaghetti and Meatballs (or "spery n merbles", bonus points to you if you know what thats from!) The best entree was my mom's. She got the Charred Strip Steak with the 5 cheese baked macaroni. SO good! Her steak was cooked perfectly! (I don't have pics of their meals unfortunately)

We all enjoyed our meals here. I was very happy since I had read mixed reviews on Mama Melrose. I'd definitely come back here! :)

After dinner, we started to head out of the park. We had a very very busy day here!

This happened...

We got back to CBR for a much needed rest. I got Aubs a bath and cleaned up some.

Hollywood Studios had EMH tonight from 8-11pm, so me and Cody decided to go back for date night! :D

It's time for date night!

After a short rest, we headed back out to Hollywood Studios around 8pm

First stop was the shops! Cody had been looking at a watch earlier that day and couldn't decide if he wanted it or not. He ended up going back for it! It's really nice!

Here he is being goofy

And here's a mummy. I liked it for some reason.

Our first attraction of the night was Tower of Terror! It showed a 20 minute wait, we waited about that long.

We had a great ride! ToT is one of my fav rides ever!

Next up, RnRR! This showed a 30 min wait, but we waited maybe 20. They did not have the single rider line open or we would've gone through that line instead

The germ marbles

Hi! I look creepy!

Waiting...

Almost our turn!

RnRR seemed darker than normal. It seems like there wasn't a lot of neon. It could just be me though!

After hangin' with Aerosmith, we stopped for a snack!

Hello, my love

We sat on a bench outside of the shop and people watched while we had our snack and a coke to share. It was a nice relaxing few minutes!

We felt like we needed one more ride to hyperspace, so we headed back to Star Tours!

We went to the Wookie Planet and the Death Star. Best ride yet! Wish my Dad could have experienced that one!

Our last ride of the night ended up being The Great Movie Ride

My favorite movie of all time is The Wizard of Oz, so I loved the pre-show!

On the ride!

We welcome you to Munchkinland!

After our journey through the movies, it was about 10 til park closing. We took some pictures and
enjoyed one last stroll in Hollywood Studios

We left HS right at 11pm, back at the resort, showered, and finishing notes by 12:30am. We had a really awesome day!

Next, an ADR for breakfast at Kona followed by a day at Epcot!

Yay! You got a wonderful date night! So glad you liked the food at Mama's! We are going there on a Fantasmic Dinner Package and I'm excited to try the food and the fiancee will eat ANY pizza!

We really did enjoy it! The only thing we didn't really care for was the breadsticks. Cody could eat pizza every day if he could! But he's super picky! It's either cheese or pepperoni!
Hopefully I can work on this report some tonight! Between work, Halloween, and accounting tests, I haven't had much time to work on it!

OK, time to get back on track with this!

Day Four - EPCOT

We were up bright and early this morning! We had an 8:30am ADR at Kona Cafe for breakfast!

We also woke up to this news!

:cry::cry::cry::mad::mad::mad::(:(:(

*Anyway. Took a bus to MK. Monorails to resorts don't start running until 8:30. K. So we hop on bus to Polynesian. Get off bus. Discover we left camera bag on other bus. Me and Cody catch next bus back to MK. Did I mention it starts pouring? What a morning  Talk to guy at bus stop. Sends out radio call to all busses. No one has it. Can't tell me what bus it was that dropped us off. Whatever. Says try lost and found at City Hall in MK or the next day at the TTC Lost and Found yadda yadda yadda. We know how this story ends.*

Anyway. With our heads hung in sadness, we boarded a bus to go back to the Poly.

I haven't been here since I was little. I loved it! Whenever we go back to WDW we want to stay here!

Breakfast time! My mom was able to push our reservation back until 9am.

These lights remind me of shallots

We were all feeling a little off this morning

I had the Pineapple Macadamia Pancakes, which were ginormous! And delicious! Next time i'm trying the Tonga Toast!

Aubs had the Mickey pancake. I figured it would be a small pancake in the shape of Mickey. NOPE. One huge pancake with the smaller ones as the ears. Goodness. She enjoyed them, obviously.

After breakfast, we looked around a little bit

My mom, mom in law, Aubs, and I took a monorail over to Epcot! My dad and Cody went to MK to see if they would let them go to City Hall to check the Lost and Found. No luck (obviously lol)

It was still pretty rainy out. Pretty perfect weather for the day we had had

Finally, EPCOT! :inlove:

First stop was Nemo! Me and Aubs in our clamshell!

Aubs enjoyed this ride a lot! Except for the dark scene with the crazy fish.. which I actually don't think was working.. Dark places = not excited Aubs

We also got stuck on the EAC, dude! This makes you feel weird after a bit.

We explored the fish tanks after!

She didn't want to leave this play area and had a total meltdown. Had to bribe her in the gift shop with a small crispy treat and Ariel toy. #spoiled
