we're not staying there.....

I've seen a few threads that ask about your favorite hotel/property but I started wondering about something a little different. Not the opposite like I've stayed there and hated it but is there a hotel/property you know you will never stay in?

And I'm not talking about people who don't stay on property because it's "too expensive" just a place you simply will not stay in.

For us, I don't believe we'll ever stay at the Coronado Springs, first because it's so big and sprawling. We've also eaten there and although the theming was great it just didn't strike me as a place we "have" to stay in.

Although if we ever won a free trip and the only place we were allowed to stay was the CSR then we'd absolutely be staying there and loving every second of it!!

POR Riverside - the one time we stayed there I swear we were a mile from the food court and bus stops. After walking all day I don't want to have long walks at my resort. The value resorts don't appeal to me, either.

We won't go back to POR and would gladly try any where else before going back. Mostly because we already tried and completely disliked it. We would stay at a value over going to POR again. Of course, I would not say it is the resort we dislike the most because we have only stayed at two, so in trying out others, POR may eventually end up in our number 2 spot, that is, if we disliked all the others even more than it :D

This trip we split our time between WL and Pop. It was my first time at a value. It's my last. It was ok, but just not me.

My list of resorts that I will not stay at is much longer than ones that I will. Basically, I will not stay at a resort which does not offer a mode of transportation other than buses. It's not that I'm anti-bus, I just want options. This trip made that obvious to me.

I would go for Saratoga Springs (went there once and it seemed big and we waited forever for a bus). Followed by All Star Sports (don't care for the theme) and maybe Old Key West (went there to eat once and although we enjoyed it, it seemed really big and spread out).

Many of the resorts don't really appeal to me. Of all of the resorts, if I had to choose just one to say I wouldn't stay there based on appeal only, I'd say SSR. That just seems like an apartment complex. I don't think the GF is stuffy, just seems uninteresting, although it is pretty from across the bay and I love checking out the gingerbread house at Christmas. Okay, I guess there is more. I really dislike Contemporary. Smells like a Ramada doused in diesel fuel and don't like the architecture but appreciate the artwork and mosaics. I have no desire to stay at the Poly as tropical isn't my thing, however I do love the lobby. I will never stay at a value again based on poor treatment at ASMovies two consecutive stays and I am not a demanding guest. This was harder to answer with one resort than I thought.

I-F we won a free trip to stay in the Contemporary, we would accept it, otherwise it isn't all that appealing to us. I would not book this resort as a preference.

We are not bothered by the resorts which require considerable walking since we are in good health and are not overweight :lookaroun; however, Saratoga Springs gives me a headache just to think about!

As much as we'd like to try them all, I think on the lower end of our priority list would be the Poly. That being said, once we've tried all the rest of the deluxes we may give Poly a shot (especially if they get DVC eventually)

Camping in the camp grounds. If I had to stay in a tent, I'd never go to Disney. We have stayed in the trailers they rented in the 80's and that was fun. The Grand Floridian and The Yacht Club I feel are too stuffy. The Swan or the Dolphin don't seem like that is part of Disney.

There are some resorts which either my wife or I have no desire to ever stay in. But before I list them, I will put the disclaimer that there are things which could persuade us to stay there after all. Such things could include if we booked a last minute trip and that particular resort is all that is available in that particular resort level. Or if we won a free trip to that resort, or if a good discount came out for that resort and not the others in its category. Or perhaps if one of our kids really, really wanted to try that particular resort. But baring one of those unforseen circumstances, in general circumstances, here are the resorts we have no intention of trying:

In all likeliehood we won't ever stay at a Value Resort, but I don't totally rule it out either. But if we were to do a Value, it would be Art of Animation, Pop Century or Movies. We would not stay at music or sports, unless we decided we needed the family suite. But now that Art of Animation is opening with family suites, I don't think we would even do that, unless there was a significant price difference.

On the moderates, my wife is totally turned off by French Quarter, so I don't foresee staying there. We have done Riverside and Coronado and hope to do them both again, and we are booked at CBR for April.

On the Deluxes, neither of us have any desire to do the Contemporary or the Yacht Club, and we would not do the DVC resorts either.
