Pre-Trip Welcome to my life, theres no turning back...

Even while I sleep...
They will find me...
Acting on my best behavior!!!

Now, let's get to the good part! We are going on a trip! But not WDW...*gasp!!!

We are going to the land that the hard core pixie dusters won't mention or speak of. Kinda like saying Valdermorts name in a Harry Potter movie.

Ok, was that enough of a hint? If not, we are going to Universal Studios (Orlando)!

Who is going?

First up we have your favorite trip reporters favorite trip reporter, the prognosticator of prognosticators, the peoples champ, the white tee v neck president, your boy, 9000!

Joining me will be my perfectly well mannered wife, C!

Where: Loews Portifino Bay

When: that's proprietary, but I've stored the info on a document and placed it next to a sports car in a garage which is more secure than Fort Knox (I couldn't help myself).

More details to come.

I'm training a service k9 for a family that visits WDW multiple times a year and I will be taking the dog down to do some actual training in the parks.

On my recent solo trip to WDW in January, I did some research to learn more about procedures for working dogs at the parks such as where the dogs are kenneled when you ride certain attractions and which attractions the dog can actually go on.

I've trained other working dogs whose families took them to WDW but this will be my first trip actually taking a dog there myslef and I'm really looking forward to it, and also the looks I'll get from people who will judge me for having a dog there. And to be fair, who can blame them? We've all seen the phony "service dogs" at the parks.

Im hoping that some CM's and guests will actually see a true working dog behaving and acting appropriately and give some credit to the real dogs out there!
When I've been at Disney and have seen dogs there (whether honest working dogs or not I don't know), but I was wondering about their paws. Does the hot pavement bother their feet when they are walking around for long periods of time?, Thanks

It absolutely can. They make small booties that the dog can wear.

Once the dogs starts lifting it's feet when standing still, you know it's time to put them on.

This is my non political nature, but im sure that everybody wants to re-port meeeeee!

Oh did I have some witty titles for this PTR but I would have been reported faster than Disney raising Genie Plus prices on spring break and I figured I'd make @Tuvalu proud and also save her the time of sending me a text to tell me to chill 😎

Quick update:

We hadn't looked at the park hours until this morning and we noticed the parks close.between 6-7 pm most nights of our trip. At first we were a bit bummed but then C had a great idea.

She said why don't we just go over to WDW for a few of the evenings if the parks are open late? My response:

We checked hours and MK is.open until 11pm and there's a night that Epcot is open until 11 pm.

It's been decided! We will lick the world! Er, I mean visit the world.

Do they normally close that early or is there a reason they are during those days?

We are at T-Minus 20 hours people!

C and I both agreed last night that after deciding to visit WDW for a few evenings we are even more excited.

She spent most of the day yesterday getting her bags ready. I think it was the first time I haven't come home from work and seen her stressed when we are one day out from leaving.

We had my assistant house sit for us last October and it was really great. C is much more relaxed knowing the dogs are at home. 2 of our dogs are protection trained so they're not easy to handle but they love Lis. Below is Lis with Newt. Newt is our smallest dog at 60 lbs bit he's also the most dangerous in regards to protection. He does not like people getting close. He won't do anything unless told. But that boy has a fire in him amd if let loose, it's pretty insane

Our kitten Marie is now about 16 weeks old and she is doing great and getting along with all the crazies in the house. Below is her and Edith.

Here is the rest of the pack together, Edith, Akira and Winnie.

I didn't see any reason other than weekdays. No after hours events on the calendar. Or at least none that I saw. They are open until 9pm on weekends.

Either way, I think it worked out well since it gives us a chance to head over to WDW.

Last night C suggested we drive the car from Universal to Disney. I just chuckled as I waited for her to realize that we'd most likely have a few drinks in us by late afternoon and that we'd definitely have a drink at Disney and that Lyft/Uber is the better option.

What a fantastic job Lis has got. Marie is unrecognisable from the last picture of her you posted. She is absolutely adorable and so are your beautiful dogs. Really surprised at the closing times for Universal but so pleased you get to include WDW into your holiday.
I ABSOLUTELY agree with every sentence of your post!

I love her and I never even met her.
I'm truly blessed to have Lis working with me. I was so hesitant to hire an employee for years because I felt I needed to control everything or else it would fly off the rails.

But she's smart and dedicated and I've let her take over many aspects of the day-to-day and boy oh boy does she run a tight ship! There are days I feel like I'm working for her 🤣🤣

And C has her back, which only gives her more power hahaha!
