We will be heading down to the World on Columbus Day weekend and staying all week. I was just wondering how many other Magic Friends would be there too, and what are your plans? Are you nervous about getting ADR's like me? :ROFLOL:

I hope to be there that weekend. It's my birthday weekend & my school usually has fall break that weekend. I havent seen the schedule for next school year, so I dont know yet.

I called our school to see when fall break would be, and my sister did the same thing, and it is that week for both of us. I think it's going to be really crowded that week, but it will still be fun.

That would be a fun way to celebrate your birthday!!:)

Hi Guys, just wanted to chime in here, I was there during Columbus day weekend in 2007, and I couldn't tell the difference in the crowds from earlier in the week. Waits were minimal and weather was beautiful! I don't think you will have issues with ADR's either. My parents surprised me with this trip and I was able to get all of my dining ressies that I wanted at the beginning of August. Enjoy!

We'll be there the week after you. We won't get in till the 17th. We went Columbus week in 2004. It wasn't that busy (that I remember anyway) until the following Sat. The MK was a nut house.

We'll be leaving that Sunday (October 11th). Our honeymoon fell during the week of Columbus Day back in '05. That is probably my favorite time of year to go. Mid-May runs a close second...

Thanks for letting us know about that. :) I hope that it is the same when we are there.

I have never been there during a holiday weekend before so I was a little nervous. I am also having to plan around three MNSSHP's at the Magic Kingdom. :hammer:It shouldn't be to bad, we will just head to another park on those nights.

So, I am under the assumption that the park hours will now be posted 90 days in advance too. Is this right? It's hard to plan dining until you have the park hours. I kind of know what we are going to do already, but I wish that they would post the hours a week or so before the 90 day mark.

FUN!! Where are you going to be staying? We will be at POR for the very first time. We are a little excited. We have stayed at CB before, and at the AllStar Resorts a few times. The last time we had two rooms at Music and it was great. I'm a little worried about being crammed into one room, but it should be fine. We don't spend much time there anyway. :)

We going to be at WL. We were able to upgrade with the military special. We had CBR in a Pirate room booked till that came out. It was only around $300 more to upgrade. Since my hubby's ticket is free and ours are only $124 each for a 5 day hopper, we jumped on it. It's been a dream to stay there since we got married almost 13 years ago. We will be celebrating our anniversary (Oct 19) while there.

Wow! That sounds great. We are also going to be celebrating our 20th year wedding anniversary while we are there. Although it's not really until Nov. 18th, but since we can't go then, we are celebrating a little early. :) Are you doing anything special for your anniversary while you are there? I am thinking about ordering a cake to be served after dinner one night. :veryconfu

That's a great price for your tickets too. I wish that we could get a deal like that. :ROFLOL:I would also love to stay at WL. It's a beautiful resort. :)

Are you going to be on the dining plan for this trip?

We haven't decided what we are doing for our anniversary other than going to a nice resturant. Not sure which one yet. We are on the dining plan. We will take the kids with us since we don't want to waste credits. We can't use our son's since he's 6. I would love to have a basket or something in our room for my hubby since he just finished his masters degree. I don't know how I would explain the charge on the debit card though.

Hope you have a great trip and Happy Anniversary (early!)

Thank you!!

I am thinking about celebrating our anniversary at 1900 Park Fare. Since the kids will be with us too, I thought it would be fun to dress up a little, not much, and go have dinner with the Prince & Cinderella. I want to have a cake with something like "20 Years of Magic" or something like that. I think that the kids would get a kick out of it. It's either there or at Ohana, but I'm not sure yet.

Happy early anniversary to you too! I love POFQ. We stayed at All Star Music on our honeymoon. It was all we could afford at the time. I wish we could have gone with a moderate, but I was happy to be in WDW!

I'm in the same boat as Len and Disney girl. We were thinking about that week, but got the 40% code in the mail, we quickly switched that to Sept 27th - Oct 3rd. We're hoping they release the free dining too, and maybe i can compare which is cheaper the 40% or the dining and switch!

I am so excited... I will be down Oct 11 thru Oct 20 on my honeymoon... We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Hopefully, discounts will be coming soon... checking everyday but nothing yet. Going to be there no matter what.

We usually go down at that time, as we both work in the school system. Not looking to good for this year though. They took away most of our fall break!

We are also celebrating in October...Birthday and Anniversary...going from the 12-17th...Last time we were there in October (2004) the crowds were minimal during the week...walked right onto SM.

Staying at the Contemporary and dinning at California Grill I think.

I am a little worried about MNSSHP and the MK being 'closed' those nights. I hope they have Fantasmic going since Wishes won't be available those nights.

Here's hoping the crowds are low and the weather is nice.

Congratulations to you both!!

I am a little worried about the three MNSSHP that week too. My son also wants to see Fantasmic so I have got to plan that one night too. It's going to be tricky since they will not have it every night.

Have either of you sat down yet and tried to plan the week? I have my plan, but until I get park hours & dates for Fantasmic it really wont be a solid plan.

Here is mine, please give me your thoughts.

Oct 10th Drive to Orlando / DTD
Oct 11th MK
Oct 12th Epcot / HS
Oct 13th AK/Epcot
Oct 14th HS/ MK
Oct 15th MK/ Epcot
Oct 16th AK?/ MK?
Oct 17th HS?MK
Oct 18th a park until lunch and then head home.

What do you think??

Hubby just gave the ok to book for Oct 8th-13th. :sohappy: Kids will be on break and only miss 1 day of school. We had to cancel our Feb trip for the two of us due to lack of babysitter and $$ but with the military ticket promotion going on this year we should be ok for the 4 of us to go. Now the fun of planning can begin. Have fun everyone!
