WED's Think Different Challenge Discussion Thread

Let me clarify because I may have explained poorly. I don't want a ride that involves guests sitting in a vehicle getting moved around places.

Anything that doesn't involve that is fine.

Could you create an attraction, that moves, with no mechanics, then? Or do you mean creating a ride like Star Tours? I'm still a little bit confused...

I'm not helping anymore. The point is it requires you to think. Guests cannot be sitting in a vehicle that moves them around. If you can find a way around that sentence then be my guests, I will reward you for it!

@Turtle that's fine.

Thanks for my critique. I did not see the update you did on the rules so I assumed it could not be something with a full ride track or a splash mountain ride etc. so I made it a zip line. I will check for any updates next time;Once again thank you for allowing me to join the contest again.

As I said to @ctxak98 , Guests must remain in the exact same co-ordinate throughout the entire show.

You can take it as me being picky if you want, the point of the challenge is to focus on the effects and story immersing guests WITHOUT movement. I didn't ask for a simulator. If you want the seats to shake, rotate or sway then fine. But it won't help you score higher, in fact it might hurt you.

honestly though I am not trying to sound snarky, But a show in 3D that just sits there is part of the problem. Its never going to come back into the mix of being REALLY popular because by using it in attractions that move and do stuff, it wayyyy more interesting. but sure take my ride and forget it moves. It really doesn't need it, It would just make it better honestly!

You seem to have not grasped the point of this weeks challenge. Though it's not an easy task to do, immersion is very possible without movement. 3D is still only beginning it's life, I wanted you guys to really focus on that and the effects without moving guests. Believe it or not, attractions can use 3D and not include fast paced action sequences. Don't be afraid to break the status quo, it's what Imagineers are supposed to do.

Now I don't want to hear anymore about it. I have told you all your options, the choice is yours. Keep in mind that any gimmick effects will be frowned upon. The challenge is due before midnight tonight (LA Time), Good Luck.
