Hi i wasnt sure whether i should post this in the wedding section or not, but seen as i wanted advice on the restaurants, i figured this forum would get me better results.

I have got the basic wedding package booked, which doesnt come with any form of meal. You are told to make sure you book a restaurant yourselves if you want one.

So does anyone know of a nice restaurant that will be able to accomodate 7 people in wedding attire, we dont have a great deal of money and we're not exactly posh, so i cant imagine fancy food going down too well as we wong know what we are eating, but at the same time we dont want to be eating fast food in our wedding clothes.

(We cant use the restaurants in the parks as they dont allow entry to people wearing wedding dresses)

Thanks:)

Suggestions:
Jiko (the wine room is a great quiet room there)
California Grill
The Wave
Narcoosee
Citricos
The Yachtsman Steakhouse
Flying Fish Cafe
Artist Point

Of those, if budget is a concern, The Wave may be a good bet. If you're looking for ambiance, I'd go for either Jiko or Artist Point. Cali Grill is great, but can be loud and less intimate.

These are all great choices! I believe there is a wine room at the California Grill also.

They have the Napa Room but if you want to reserve it for a special dinner you have a minimum expenditure you have to meet. It's like that at all the restaurants if you want to have one of their "rooms" for a dinner. I can't remember the exact requirements but the least amount for one of the restaurant "rooms" is still well over a thousand dollars. I'm pretty sure, not 100% on that. Then they want to add service fees & gratuities. It gets insane really fast. LOL!

Call me crazy but for a real contrast and a good time with not a lot of cost I think it'd be funny to do Whispering Canyon. Could you imagine the fun the cast would have with a wedding bunch? I'm always one to look to do something really off-beat, tho. LOL!

The other suggestions sounded great. Right along with what I was thinking. :animwink:

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Given there are only 7 of you you shouldnt have any difficulty getting somewhere to eat. We had issues as there was 16 in the party.

My EDD has opted to eat at the Yachtsman as the logistics and time issues made the Cali Grill prohibitive as party's over 10 have to dine early. We found Disney reservations were most helpful. Though we wont know how good it is for a few weeks yet

There a number of places at downtown Disney. Raglan road has great food but is more of an Irish pub atmosphere. Fultons is nice.

That's a very good list - the only change I would add? Skip Artist's Point - consider Citrico's. I'm constantly amazed (twice per year) how much improvement I see in Citrico's offerings, and how rapidly AP continues to sink.

I second this! I am very much a fan of Citrico's and should be well liked by the wedding party.

I did my wedding dinner, for about 20, at the Yachtsman's. It was great. I talked directly with the manager several months out and he gave us a separate room off to the side. They had a special menu prepared for us so we new the cost up front.

We had appetizers and salads served family style and then everyone got a choice of one of three entrees. It was great.

There were power problems that evening and the restaurant had to be evacuated, but the staff handled it all wonderfully and it turned out to be even better with an impromptu outdoor reception on their patio.

I can't say enough good things.

Most restaurants will work with you and put together something nice if you give them notice.

If you are looking for something a little more affordable than the signature dining experiences try Shutter's at Old Port Royal. It is extremely nice for the price and has a wonderful festive island feel.

Another choice would be Ragland Road, as a previous poster mentioned, if you want a raucous fun night of drinking and dancing. They don't have much in the way of separate accommodations, but if you're looking to be part of the party this is the place to go.

I was reading the recommendations people left for your wedding day meal and although they are very nice places, they are very expensive. I noticed you wanted a nice place but not to expensive. I would suggest The Wave for the price and the atmosphere. Any of the restaurants will be very happy to work with you on a meal if you speak to them before your wedding day. Good luck and congratulations, I hope your day is everything you wish for.

Oh my gosh Sweetpee, I immediately thought of Whispering Canyon when I read the OP's original question. I too think that would be a blast. Plus they have that great family style meal and in my opinion, Wilderness Lodge is one of the prettiest resorts on property. After dinner you could go take pictures in front of Old Faithful and down by the lake. This is exactly where I would go if I was on a budget and wanted a true Disney dinner.
