So my trip is finally coming at last... after a false start (long story) on May 21st, the wife and I are booked to arrive June 4th for 9 nights at the POR.

I've never gone in June, and am comfortable that the crowd levels will be moderate to low, but I am concerned about the weather forecast a little.

I know we can't control the weather so "que sera sera, whatever will be will be" when it comes time we'll have to make do. That said, I'm wondering whether the isolated and scattered thunderstorms that they are calling for every day are standard for the time of year. Right now we're staring at 60% chance of rain and Scattered T-Storms every day.

Are these generally the same style of storms that the World experiences most of the Summer. i.e. usually some rain every day, but normally short and refreshing?

Like I say, I'm not used to going at this time of year and am just looking for some comfort that I'm not walking into a week of constant rain, though if we get that we'll still have fun and enjoy ourselves.

Last year, my DH and I went from the 6th to 14th. The weather was great! And it only rained on the day we arrived. It was beautiful - not too humid. I will say though, when it comes to Orlando weather - you never know. One year we went in Oct - humid and dreadful hot! One year we went at Thanksgiving - we literally froze to death!!!! And one year at Christmas - it was like we were vacationing on the sun! Just check the weather reports. Use the 10 day forcast. And you can always keep an eye on this: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Have a great trip!

Don't be too concerned. Afternoon thunderstorms will be predicted every day until october. It all depends upon how quickly it heats up, and the amount of moisture in the air. Our first year living here (1982) we could set our watch by the 1:30PM storms, but in recent years it's been more hit or miss, especially during our drought phase.

Since they can come up very quickly, and can be very localized, they have to predict them daily.

It's possible to be sunny at the MK while it's pouring at AK.

When we went back at the end of april, Scattered and Isocated Thunderstorms were predicted every day. It downpoured on our arrival day and the day after when we were at animal kingdom, It rained for like 15 minutes then the rest of the day was clear.
One thing I noticed is if you go on weather.com and then go to florida's weather channel when your there, they say two totally different things. We found that both were rarely correct.

next week

We are going next week too.

If you look at weather.com and accuweather.com, they are completely conflicting. Accuweather shows the estimated inches of precipitation, and our week looks pretty minimal by comparison to other weeks. I agree, probably just looking at an afternoon shower every now & then - typical Florida - not a constant downpour to ruin vacation.
