Wearing one piece bathing suit and shorts acceptable at parks?

I was a football coach for 20 years.....some do and some don't....just sayin'

Edit: NCAA and NFL "cups" are not mandatory.

wow... serious drift here, but it actually is best to not wear anything under cycling shorts. The seams in undergarments will cause very painful sores when sitting on a bike for too long. Oh, and shaved legs help road rash heal faster. That ought to stir up some discussions! LOL...

Oh great, nightmares again tonight!

uh....nope.....Would I even if it wasn't mandatory? You betcha!
Well, I still think that bike shorts are akin to Speedos and shouldn't be worn in public.

I've never seen people wearing football gear (with or without anything on underneath) in public, so I have no opinion.

Since you seem to be somewhat of an expert on this subject how about posting a picture of one of these "transitional" pieces.
I assume it will look a little something like this:

I find this lady to be attractive and her attire wouldn't offend me in the least. But I wouldn't think it would be something to go to the parks in. Have I seen worse?....absolutely.

As a Florida resident of nearly 30 years, my vote is for a dry fit/wick away top (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Champion-Women`s-Vapor®-PowerTrain-7664/dp/B00IM7ASO6/) and some cute, quick dry board shorts. I LOVE these: http://www.amazon.com/prAna-Makenna-Board-Short-Espresso/dp/B00CTRXNTM because they look like shorts and not just hot pants or a bathing suit.

Seriously. It's easy wearing, comfortable and most importantly, it's REAL clothing. But with the added advantage of not feeling damp and soggy the way regular cotton and such gets. Few minutes walking through a store to get some a/c and your clothes are dry again. This is the kind of thing I wear to the parks all the time.

There are definitely modest one piece bathing suits which would be entirely appropriate with shorts. However, if it is tight fitting, it will gnrerally cause you to sweat more than if you are wearing a loose fitting top and shorts. Usually swimsuit material is not breathable material. When you are at the pool or a beach, if you get too hot you can go in the water and cool off. That is not easily done in the parks. If the one piece swimsuit does not make you sweaty, it probably does not have a lot of material or the material is very lightweight. Both of which could raise some eyebrows.

If you are decently covered and want to wear a swimsuit and shorts, do it.

Correct, it's best not to wear anything under bike shorts. Shaved legs also help you slide when you hit the deck, they make you more aero, and your team masseuse will thank you.

Only WDWMagic could drag this out into four highly entertaining pages of internet banter.

It's incredible (or not so considering)how many males have gravitated to what in essence is a ladies clothing thread. It's like a subconscious attraction to the idea of a tight costume covering a ladies chest area in the hot sun whilst wearing shorts has attracted all these individuals 'pretending' to be interested in it for reasons otherwise

I of course, being a respectable British, happily married gentleman only joined with the genuine concern for the young ladies well being and only had thoughts about her safety and comfort in the park. The rest of you should feel rightly ashamed of yourselves, tut, tut. Anyone who disagrees with my summing up of the topic can of course meet me in just over a wee'k's time in Hooters near DD to discuss this rather sordid affair further :angelic:

Now I won't join the debate of what to wear or what's appropriate but I will say I have seen this fashion around and some bathing suits are being sold specifically for this "trend" in shops... it's a "style" to wear with jeans or shorts. Perhaps this is more what the OP was thinking rather than an actual swimsuit?

Maybe she was even thinking of one like this? (Yes this is an adult/women's suit/leotard sold in a fashion shop here in the UK!)

Is it just me or does that lady have a giant body and tiny legs?

Yes... We also had civility, manners, and etiquette.

Recently my teen told me manners don't matter anymore, I simply said to many people they always will....and better to use them vs. not. As far as dress code in society....LOL personally I am still offended when I see young women and little girls basically wearing nothing but what used to pass as underwear.....Mothers dressed in barely anything with little daughters emulating leopard skin tight bodysuits....it's everywhere. I prefer NOT to see that at WDW and wish it were enforced...I don't look for it, I am much too busy googling at the park itself....o_O.

I'd say a one-piece bathing suit and shorts would be MORE than acceptable, given the plethora of crop tops and sports bras I've seen in the parks. This summer we stayed at several different resorts. On our last day at the Beach Club we sent our luggage off to Saratoga Springs, went swimming, then walked through Epcot in our swimsuits and cover-ups to get to the Saratoga Springs bus at the front of the park. No problems from the cast members, but darn if I didn't feel out of place in my bathing suit!
