wearing face masks?

Mask loophole has been closed. No walking around with food or drink.
The fact that anyone tried to create a “loophole” in an amusement park is evidence to the case it shouldn’t be open.
The consensus with my leaders is that they expect to have loses for the foreseeable future while the mask requirement is in place. They are just accepting that for now but if there is not an uptick in attendance away from the AP and die hard Disney park fans to normal Middle America / "bread and butter" travelers that actually spend money by Dec then..... well the cuts and the sell off could be something that we have never seen before.

Until people feel comfortable traveling this is the new normal and Disney could become a shell of its original self the longer this goes on. If this continues for 2 years.....UGH I think there might a bankrupt Disney where someone could come in and buy Disney at a huge discount....although that might not be a bad thing. For me and many cast we are looking forward to getting rid of the masks and face shields to reduce headaches due to what seems to be oxygen levels.
I think you just predicted your future.
If Disney were to get bought out. That would be a bad thing.....you think things were tight over the last decade with park maintenance. Pure private ownership will make that 1 million times worse.
Joking or no...I think private ownership is the only concept to “save” the identity of Disney. As long as it’s tied to stock traders and hedgers...nothing is safe from slash and burn

Not necessarily. Privately owned theme parks like Silver Dollar City, Silverwood, and Holiday World are some of the best in the business for cleanliness, customer service, etc.

WDW is not a theme park. It is a city the size the San Fran.
Its enormous. Pennies will be pinched harder than hard.

I'm not asking anyone to cater to what I feel.
I'm following the advice of the majority of heath professionals across the globe.
Wearing a mask is for other people NOT to protect you.
Thank you for filling me in on the virus. My wife is a covid clinic nurse, her father is a doctor.
We get how the virus moves and how it is contracted.

Once again it's not for me....its for everyone else.

If you don't like the way a business does things then don't support them. It's honestly that simple. I genuinely believe if people had told Disney they wouldn't come if they had to wear a mask that Disney would have changed their tune in a heartbeat. I'm not in favor of the anti mask group causing disturbances and I'm not in favor of the virtue signalers going around shaming people over things that aren't going to keep them from getting the virus anyway. They are pots calling kettles black. Do people go up to every smoker and tell them how bad they are for smoking? No. They just keep their distance from them. Distance will do way to to curve it than masks. Way more. I'm speaking from actual experience of actually having the virus. Not from what I read from some "expert" online.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you...

But if “distance” is the answer...then Disney parks can’t effectively operate and/or have enough traffic to make profits...so that would equal closure.

The situation can close them just as easily as a local or national mandate.

If you think about it, just in general, how often are you really around a stranger for more than 10 minutes in close proximity? Now if Disney has basically eliminated pre shows, parades, fireworks, and things of that nature it would be absolutely possible to just walk around and never get that close to people for that long. Then when you ARE gonna be in tight quarters like in lines that maybe get congested or things of that nature then just throw it on. The reaction to this has been more of an overreaction and the internet has helped to fuel it as much as the media has. There are just so many misconceptions about it. Distance honestly is the most effective thing though. Hence the stay at home orders and what not.

Disney makes zero...and I mean zero...profit off 5,000 visitors a day.

It’s a fantasy that they can and ever will. So by definition, for them to recover, they’re gonna have to pack them in.

@Castmbr alluded to that above and they are absolutely correct.

“Distancing” to the level we are speaking of isn’t a realistic option and never was. Disney is “playing along” for now.

Aren’t the strict mask rules to satisfy the cast member unions?
That was part of it. I'm actually a teamster because that's what we are at UPS and the teamsters got UPS to say that I can't be forced to go back to work or even ALLOWED to go back to work until I can produce a negative test. I was gonna do that anyway but I'm in total favor of that. I've still yet to do that and have test positive twice so far 17 days apart. It's NOT just something you can be promised to be over in just "14 days". I can say this, though, I'm really dreading getting back around people because I live in a small east TN town where everybody knows everybody and a lady I go to church with that works at the health dpt told my wife that I'm "the most famous person in town" because I have it. I come into contact with tons of people a week but the worst thing about people knowing I have it is that I know they're gonna be uncomfortable getting around me once I'm better and I totally understand it because they're just so misinformed about it. I honestly feel like I'm gonna be looked at like a pariah and want to have a for sure negative test just so I can set my mind and theirs at ease. If I infected someone that died I'd feel like I committed manslaughter and I couldn't live with myself if I done that. I've taken the quarantine very seriously because I'm scared to give it to other people.

Oh I'm sure they're bleeding money as far as the parks go right now. I would say the times when you'd be within 6ft for more than 10min would be mostly on the buses or the monorails. Oddly enough, I would say the most "at risk" attraction would be FOP because you literally LAY on the thing for a pretty long period of time but if they're genuinely cleaning it well it would also be probably pretty safe as well.

Getting be a national resentment against masking up everywhere by a lot if people, they are rebelling against this social conditioning to the point its dividing America. I expect within 30 days it will pass.

Firstly , sorry to hear you have the virus and I hope that you make a full recovery soon .
It is amazing though that the virus knows the difference between breathing out and coughing and sneezing.
"Breathing out" doesn't cause what they're calling "respiratory droplets". Coughing, sneezing, and clearing your throat can though. I can understand people being ignorant though because there is so much misinformation it's ridiculous.

Even those two organizations have disagreed during this. It's a constant moving target. All I know is I got it and I want it gone but if people simply breathing can give it to you shouldn't you have had it by now?
Yet they both agree it is spread by talking . Don't know how much more proof that you want 🤷🏻‍♂️
