After Sunset Pier we headed back to Mallory Square for the Sunset Celebration. Lots more people, but honestly, a lovely sunset, no more or less spectacular than at the resort.

I bought these two really cool (empty) cigar boxes at Abuela’s Bodega.

We went back to Mangoes for dinner.

Not sure if I said it here or not, but I enjoyed the pork belly so much that I’d decided if we came back, I would get two!

Best salad I’ve had the entire trip.

Mike got the lobster mac ‘n cheese again.

And smoked fish “dip”. Doesn’t look too “dippy” to me.

He had some or other draft beer. I had water. No lemon this time, so that’s a switch up.

Puppy had tiny (and I mean tiny) nibbles of everything.

There was music. Not rockabilly.

I ❤️ The pink triangle! Love all the photos!
The folks at Aqua Bar (in my photos) seemed a hoot. They were having lively interactions with passersby.

We saw the painted crosswalks during the day on our last visit, but last night my head was on a bit of swivel.

Lots of drunks (considering it was only 9:00); many golf carts blowing through stop signs and red lights; large snake loosely wrapped around dude’s neck (small dog in arms… you do the math); vehicles blaring music with bass so loud my chest hurt; and every side street not named Duval was pitch DARK. Like can’t see your hand in front of your face DARK.

I’m not a fan of Times Square after dark either. (Didn’t help that I brought the wrong Rx clear glasses either. Anything that wasn’t dark was was a wee bit blurry.)

We took the recycling down and stopped at the marina, and were rewarded with these pics:

41” barracuda. That’ll be some good eating tonight.

The baby manatee was just hanging around. No sign of the big ones.

We’ve still got a little over a week here, then a stopover at the same KOA in Fort Pierce before arriving at Fort Wilderness on 10/2, but it’s time to start plotting our park strategy.

It’s a whole new world since we last visited in 2019, and I need to learn the rules. (@NYwdwfan did all the work in CA earlier this year. She’ll tell you it was a group effort, but really it was all her. I knew I should have paid attention!)

Mike is still annoyed at the way Disney dumped us in 2020, giving our resort to the NBA players, so he insists we’re not giving them one dime more than we have to.

Let’s add this up - 2 days of Genie+ each, plus paid ILL’s for Galaxy and Rise … that’s less than a dime, right?

Plan is 10/3 - Epcot/DHS, and 10/5 - MK. We’ll need to return to the campground for at least an hour mid-day each day for the pup. We knew that when we brought her, so I’m not complaining.

I’m not happy with any of our ADR’s, so I keep checking for something better. I refuse to waste our limited park time eating at a sit-down restaurant, so I’m only looking at DS or resort restaurants.

The WDW portion of the trip will be in a totally separate TR. Just wanted to justify why I’m sitting in the trailer right now reading different strategies and watching YT videos.

When you only have an 8 cubic foot fridge, you have to finish off food before buying more. Time to clear out some meat and cheese!

Today’s lunch - grilled pastrami and provolone, and grilled ham and Swiss. Both very good. Keto rounds for me, Sarah Lee butter bread for Mike.

Looks great but 8cu ft fridge????????? How are you managing with that? I think I could do it without the boys (maybe) but dh says he's never ever leaving them alone after your TR

It’s not too bad, because as you said, it’s just the two of us. This type of RV is referred to as a full time couple’s RV. If we were travelling with the boys (we wouldn’t), we would have bought a different plan. Full sized residential fridges are available in bigger models, but they were a) more space than we needed and b) more money than we could afford.

I also suffered from being the "bitten one" whenever we visited Florida. On the last trip there I got some soap from Basin at downtown Disney Springs which was an anti bug one. Once I started using it the biting stopped. Don't know if they still have it but it may be worth a shot.
