We Are Surrounded By Idiots Report 12/11 - 12/17

Well Christmas in Disney is pretty amazing. The magic is definitely all around you. The lights, snow, smells, trees...everything atmosphere wise was simply amazing. However I had my first issues with some CM's, and honestly guests were at an all time high in stupidity, rudeness, and just plain lazy.

Day 1.

We flew Air Tran for the first time. It was not all that bad. Its no Southwest by any means but it got us there alive so I am VERY thankful for that.

When we arrived at MCO we went straight to ME. They put us right on a bus and we took the 2 first seats so we could get off first! We probably waited a good 25-30 minutes before we left. It started raining as be boarded the bus, and it rained until we got to our resort and it stopped. I get off the bus and what do I see inside the lobby? 50 kids ALL dressed in their football jerseys! I thought, oh no this is going to be a nightmare. Thankfully that was the last night of whatever the hell they were there for. We checked in, put our stuff in our room, and headed to Epcot for EMH. We get on the bus and Italian music starts playing! Then we stop at All Star Music and these two Japanese girls get on the bus and they start playing Japanese music! It was kind of funny and probably something only I would notice. Its probably around 9:40pm at this time but Epcot is open till 12:30am so we figured we would go walk around, eat some Seasons Grill and be happy we are in Disney.

It was probably about 50 degrees with tons of wind, and I loved it! I was so thrilled that I could go to Epcot and not be hot and miserable the whole time. We went to Sunshine Seasons Grill, ate and then walked around World Showcase. We only rode Maelstrom. Everything was beautiful. The lights, trees...really awesome. We decided to call it a night being that we both been up since around 6am, and we both worked. We got back to Sports around 11:45 and went to bed.

Day 2 will be posted later...Im really busy today!

Very different. At this point, I know I couldn't do it. For me, it's the best way of extending the trip beyond the trip itself. I am screwing with WDW pictures year-round, and I have at least 30 minutes of fun per day with it.

Definitely better than nothing, but not as good as it should have been (kudos for looking on the bright side, though). I mean, seriously. You found f__________g FEATHERS on your food. If you were a jackass about it, you could've easily contacted your local TV station (or Orlando's), given them the picture, and let them run with it. Not a "minor error" on Disney's fault by any stretch of the imagination. Like you said though, it is better than nothing. And you (well...we) got a funny story out it, to boot!

You know, when giving thought to a no-camera trip I thought of you specifically and knew that it'd be a much bigger stretch for you to not take a camera than me. You put so much thought & planning into your photography well before your trips. With me, I plan to carry something lightweight and not lose or break it. LOL! Different perspective trips are always interesting to think of. I just don't know if I'd want to go w/no camera. That would take the after-fun out for me, too.

How many people read this thread and showed the cooked feathers pic to people? I did! I showed probably a dozen people. All said the same thing: :hurl:. So, yeah, the feather story has been interesting fodder for me.

I am going to get hit with a light up sword. Then I am going to grab it, break it in half, and throw it as far as I can.

If you ever do this, you will be my personal hero. In fact, I will pay your bail when the inevitable arrest comes.

As for the chicken, um, pretty gross. But it's nice to see you at least got a gift card out of it.

The feathers on the chicken is just gross:hurl: but, I can top it !!! Now, this didn't happen at Disney it happened at Houlihans (a chain restaurant/bar) and it was about 10 years ago. My DH and I went to dinner with his cousin and GF (now DW), we had eaten here many times without incident. The cousins girlfriend ordered a chicken ceasar salad which was huge. After eating almost all of it she noticed something odd at the bottom of the bowl, at first she thought it was a large piece of burnt chicken, WRONG! It was a HUGE cricket, dead and covered in ceasar salad dressing:hurl::lol:! We were shocked but, all of us (except her) thought it was hysterical. The manager apologized profusely and comped her dinner and all of our desserts and drinks. The manager explained that the salad comes to them in a huge bag and they just dump it in the bin and give it a quick rinse.

same thing happened to me at Olive Garden. I will never go back there again. I couldn't even finish my other food even though it was free.

I'll need your name and number but I'm sure as I am being escorted out of the park the CM will be secretly thanking me as well...

I've been away from the forums for a bit, so it was nice to check back in on this story and see that you got at least a little something for your trouble. It really shouldn't have happened in the first place but it's nice to know that TDO did take your complaint seriously. Well done.

yeah...it took a good while for them to get back to me but I really was in no hurry. I thought they handled it fine. Again it was more than I expected.

BTW

Where the HECK have you been?

LOL, hiding under a mountain of snow. Actually, between work and just the typical life stuff, time seems to be in short supply right now. But all is well and I am back to my daily Disney obsession, especially with only a week to go before my next trip.
