The convertible model is on deck for 2010. I kind of like the minimalist interior. Some of the cars of today are simply too busy on the inside for my taste. I am originally a Chevy guy as well but I have never been a big Camaro fan. I like them there are just other classic Chevys I like more namely the 57 Bel Air. To date I have owned 2 of them. If GM was to ever make a retro 57 Bel Air I could see me selling one of my kids to get it.

If I'm spending $38,000 (STARTING) on a car...a very generic Dodge interior is not what I want. My Avalanche has a simple interior but it's very "nice" looking. Clean and simple, yet functional and very pleasing to the eye.

I was never a Camaro fan (I'd take any classic Mustang over a classic Camaro any day of the week). There is something about this car...it's sleek, it's muscular, it has retro touches but not over the top...and I prefer the look over the 'stang and Challenger.

I have never cared much for the Mustang. I think Ford did a great job creating a retro version of a 60's mustang but since the originals never blew my skirt up the new ones don't either. I definitely like the Camaro better than the Mustang. Maybe if I am lucky the wife will get one and I will get the other.:D

Full Frontal Nudity! No bra or anything!

I like it...this must be the V6 though...I can really see that hood scoop being operational and the vents by the rear wheel well being actual vents.

To be honest, from the concept...the only things I see different are the headlights and side mirrors. (And lack of badging)

I wonder if they all come with the back-up beeping sounds like commercial trucks.

ugh.. I can't wait for the time people realize these magnums, chargers, mustangs, etc are all freaking HUGE. And for what gain?

We're going to end up with 500hp Minivans that plow around a road course like a bowl of jello

The Camaro is heavy...NOT NEARLY as heavy as the Challenger though.

The Camaro is clocking in at 3400lbs (pre-production/post concept model). The Camaro, at least, has an IRS.

EDIT: Which, if I'm not mistaken, is only a couple of hundred pounds heavier than the 350Z and with the ability to accommodate 4 passengers. It's not TOO bad.

A couple hundred pounds heavier? Nearly everything I've ever seen on the 350Z has put it at right about 3400.

Rumor is the new Z will lose a couple hundred pounds, but if Chevy can really bring the Camaro in at 3400, that won't be bad at all.

What's the weight on the G8? Doesn't the Camaro use the same platform?

As far as the Camaro is concerned...I'm going on speculation from GM designers. The actual curb weight isn't available. I've read between 3300-3500lbs. (Now, I'm sure a Z28 model with the 6.2liter supercharged engine will be heavier)

WHOA! Gary, you're right...it was about 3200lbs when they first came out...it seems like the 2008 model is up to 3387!

there is no way that car will be 3400 lbs.. I bet my digital life on it :)

The Z was 32xx-33xx depending on trim.

Dropping weight is just too expensive in these full size cars with all the safety and other 'essentials' people expect in cars now.

Any one watch Knight Rider last night ?

I loved how a Edge was keeping up with KITT !

What a horrible show. That was just pitiful.

The GT500 KR is a hot car (sans weird "wing").

Yes, in a 2 minute span, there was the GT500, Edge, Fusion, Focus, Mazda CX-9, Volvo S4, Escape and Explorer. Also, the "bad guy vehicle" switched from an unbadged GMC Yukon to an Edge...and back again.

It was just one big lame commercial for Ford and Microsoft Sync.

The only shining moment was the Hoff.

I question the 3400 too (That may have been the pre-prod V6 with no options)...seems way too light...but it'll be lighter than 4000. The G8 is a sedan (four full doors)...I would probably peg the Camaro at 3700-3800.

The Challenger is clocking in at approx. 4200...so I think it would be safe to say the Camaro weighs 4-500 less.

It looks part Eclipse... and part Tiburon, with some Civic thrown in.

Interesting... but not my cup of tea.

(I believe it will be competing with the G8 and Impala)

That's a little more powerful than the Tiburon, Eclipse, and Celica...so it should be interesting to see who grabs this one up.

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.

I didnt read the specs... I just looked at the exterior shots... and judged it from those...lol.
