3 hour wait for Space Mountain. 2.5 hours for Thunder, Tower of Terror, Test Track.

I'm sorry to insult people, but if you wait that long for a ride, you're an idiot.

I agree - considering what you pay to get in a 3 hour wait for a single attraction is crazy - if queues are that bad Disney are letting too many people through the gates - but each to their own - As much as I'd love to be there for Xmas & New Year I will never do so because it's money down the drain.

I couldn't imagine saving my money up all year to wait in a 3 hour line. Granted being there around the holidays is great, but people who go around this time have to realize that they aren't going to be able to do much if they don't utilize the fastpass system( and even if they do they still wont be able to do much). If your going to go around this time you should just be ready to just enjoy the atmosphere (which is unlike anywhere else in the world around the holidays). We always go in early Dec. when the lines are next to nothing and they still have all the decorations up.

That is insulting. If this is the only week you can go (as is clearly the case for many--thus the crowds) and Fastpasses are already gone (as I am sure they are) then your options are: A) ride nothing and go sit in your hotel room or B) wait in line. You can only see the Country Bears so many times before you decide it's time to wait in line for a big ticket ride. I doubt every person in those 3 hour lines is an imbecile.

I would never desire to go this week, but if you have kids, especially this year (when Christmas and New Years are on Sundays, so this is literally the only week most kids in America have off), it's now or never.

Then don't go. As someone else said, it's money wasted. We go during the summer when it's VERY busy, but not every ride has 2+ hour wait. If you do any research beforehand, you know that Christmas week is the most crowded, most expensive week of the year to go. Why subject yourself to that? I love WDW as much as anyone else here, but good lord, there comes a point when you just have to say No.

Thats got to be the worst park experience. This is why we go in September, and its well worth pulling the kids out of school for a few days.

No....your not.

Either point you're trying to make, it should be "you're". If "you're" going to try and prove your intellect over someone else, you should at least get your spelling right.

And no, I'm not trying to be insulting. I might be, but I'm not trying. I'm just being honest. Do some research and you'd know, this is the worst week to go to WDW. That being said, I retract my "idiot" statement as some families I suppose have no other choice but to vacation this week. I simply can't fathom any ride in the world being worth a 3 hour wait. That's just insane.

I agree. Vacation time is precious. The time we get to vacation with our kids is the most precious of all. Who in the world wants to spend their vacation in that insanity? You can't even properly use fastpass.

This is unfortunately one of the reasons we're down here right now (that and the opportunity to visit with my wife's family during the sme time period). We are lucky though in the fact we'll have the week right after New Years to also visit the parks, when many have returned home and to school. But many simply don't have that option, as evidenced by the park closures and wait times.

Sorry - I wasn't trying to insult you. I shouldn't have use the word "idiot". I feel bad for families that can't go any other time. Those that go at this time for the excitement of being there at Christmas.....Well, that's another story.:hammer:

I think his point was that you are not sorry for being insulting because you went ahead and used the word idiot. That makes you look like a jerk.

I understand where you were coming from; perhaps just bad phrasing tossed in. But we're also down here voluntarily as much to see extended family as anything else. Besides we're some of the outliers; this is our third trip of the year, albeit for much shorter timeframes before.....

I miss that chaos, really.

Been there for Christmas Week and NYE each year from 2002--2006, man it was a fun time.

Yes, it was nuts, but the energy was incredible. Everything was open with extended hours, tons of entertainment. It was a game; arrive early, relax at Resort all afternoon, and parks again at night. Hope everyone there relaxes and has a fun time. It is a vacation.

The longest I have ever waited in line is 30 minutes, and that was for toy story. I would never in a million years wait 3 hours for a ride or 1 hour for that matter. I would never call someone an idiot for waiting 3 hours, but I can guarantee you thats what I am thinking in my head.

Just because you are in the parks this time of year does not mean you are spending 3 hours in line for anything. We went for Xmas to New Year's in 2009-2010. Plan things right and you'll get to do everything you want. Get in early. Get Fastpass for one E-ticket and do one E-ticket. Most EMH mornings, you'll be able to get a second ride in before the lines begin. Maybe even a third. Then you start the ride/get FP dance. Every day of that week we did about half a park before lunch. Then we got out to rest or went to shows for the afternoon. Back to rides after dinner until closing. That was with a 5 year old...we'll do it again in a couple years with a 10 or 11 year old and I suspect it will be even easier to do everything we want.

This time of year is beautiful down there and I look forward to doing it again. As a couple of teachers, it's either now, Easter, or the summer each year.

I wouldn't call anyone who is there now any kind of name, but if they are waiting in 3 hour lines, I would offer to help them plan their next trip!:)

We are in the busiest week of the year at WDW.
Ho, Ho, Ho, it's that time of the year once again. Did that only once when my sons' were young. Never again!! My wife and I now go during the first week of December only. BUT.........it still can be exciting......I think. :xmas:
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. :sohappy:
