I have only ever been to the WDW Orlando and have not been to any of the others. The one i have been to is fantastic and absolutely massive. What are the others like in comparison, size and actual park? I am returning to Orlando next year and i cant wait but i have seen a few people mention it and was wondering. Think i will stay with what i know but just asking what people think. I am from the UK and have not even been to the Paris one but have heard very small in comparison to WDW.

I've never been to any other park other than WDW, but it's said Disneyland could pretty much fit into the parking lot area of the Magic Kingdom. If that gives you an idea :)

I've been to WDW, DL, and DLP, and yes, they are very different...

DLP has 2 parks, Disneyland and the Walt Disney Studios. I've only been to Disneyland park, but what I saw I was very impressed with (jet lag messed me up and I hadn't slept in 72 hours and pretty much couldn't feel my legs :)). Everything feels very new and clean compared to WDW and DL, and the cultural differences from the US make it a really unique, yet still familiar because it's Disney, experience.

Yes, DL is smaller than MK. Again, the Disneyland Resort has two parks, Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Disneyland has several different attractions and many "originals" - attractions that have been in the park since it opened in 1955. DCA is a work in progress (much like the Studios in Paris). It has several popular attractions (including Soarin' Over California and the Tower of Terror), and is receiving a major overhaul from WDI over the next few years.

Each resort has something unique and different to offer even a casual guest (not just obsessive people like me :)); however, if you're looking for a resort where you can stay on property for 10 days and not run out of anything to do, you're only going to find that in WDW.

That is a very basic comparison between the 3 resorts. I hope it gives you an idea, though.

thanks to the op for posting the topic. im very interested to hear what people have to say about dl vs. wdw as well. my wife and i are considering going to dl our next trip for a couple of days but have been told by many that we will be disappointed by the lack of things to do and parks size.

id love to go and ride the "originals" but i dont want to fork over the dough if its not going to be worth the trip. thanks ahead of time for everyones opinions!

Disneyland and Disneyland Paris are well worth it for fans of the Disney parks. Perhaps if you are just a casual visitor looking for the best value, you cant really beat WDW. The sheer size and variety of entertainment make it hard to beat.

Disneyland has a real feel of history to it. You can practically feel Walt's presence in Main street and the Tiki Birds.

Disneyland Paris is an incredibly well detailed park, and a great resort to stay at.

DL is wonderful, even after this WDW veteran has been going to WDW only for years.

There is a much different feel to some things, but its amazing how many things are able to be put in the park! There are a lot of good attractions we don't have here, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit (and the entire toontown area is very nice), Indy, Space Mountain 2.0 (blows away WDW's), and they still have Mr. Toad.

Fantasyland is IMO much nicer than WDW's.

DCA is, ehh, not too special. The rollercoaster is fun, but ToT is weak compared to MG...errrr, uh...DHS. Most of the other attractions are the same as WDW, Soarin', MuppetVision, TurtleTalk, Tough to be a Bug.

Hard to Choose

We've been to DLR many times and WDW once. Though we like WDW better, DLR is still the original and has a different, almost haloed feeling to it. That is the place that started the parks. Soarin started there, and a lot of the rides that make up WDW.

DLP is huge - at the MK Park you feel more like you`ve spent a day walking around Epcot! By comparisson, WDSP is tiny; more like MGM was in 1989. As mentioned above, DLP as a whole is a destination resort and very self contained, more like DLC - you can walk from the official hotels to the parks easily.

Yes, for sheer diversity, WDW is the one.

Disney land paris is great for a long weekend, a couple of days in the main park and then a day in the studios. Be aware that the main park is very busy i believe compared with MK at wdw, but the studios was dead the last time i went and i went on RNRC around 5 times in half an hour! Although the themeing isnt great, studio number one is pretty cool and with the tower of terror it can now only be better, but i find the CMs to be not as polite as in WDW and the food is not great either rainforest cafe and planet hollywood were very dissapointing compared to disney and MUCH more expensive!!

This California girl grew up going to DL many times through my 40 years. It will always hold a very special place in my memories.

When my DH and I first went to WDW together for our six year anniversary/honeymoon trip it was amazing. It was both of our first time to WDW and we felt like someone came to our town and moved everything around. And . . . WDW is HUGE!!! We found out on the Keys to the Kingdom tour that you can fit the two theme parks and the three Disney hotels from DL into the parking lot of the TTC in WDW. WOW!!!

DLP we felt was bigger than DL but smaller than MK. DLP was quite dirty and run down compared to how clean they keep ours in the states. Phantom Manor was really cool and a little more graphic than our two HM's here. BTMR was where Tom's Sawyer Island is in the middle of the river . . . see my avatar . . . that was really neat to ride. Actually, both of those attractions were my favorite there. Oh, and Small World has lots of bridges just like the Seine . . . cool. WDS was very small and did not have much to do when we went . . . very much the one-day park.

If there is one Disney park that all Disney fans should go to, if at all possible, it is Tokyo Disney Resort. Tokyo DisneySea is the epitome of Disney imagination. It is so overflowing with incredible theming that you simply must see it to believe it...truly amazing. It is a benchmark that is met by no park in America, and it basically amounts to the imagineers having an unlimited budget and unlimited creative free will to do whatever their imaginations could come up with.

Tokyo Disneyland is similar to the Magic Kingdom, but Pooh is an amazing ride that we really should have here...in fact we have no instance of the technology used in Pooh here at all so I wonder when we will see some ride based on that at WDW.

Both parks set a new standard for cleanliness as well.

Having never been to DL, but having been to WDW many more times than I can count, will I be disappointed about DL's size?

Is it noticeably cramped in other words?

With the possible exception of Sleeping Beauty Castle, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the size of DL. It's true that it's smaller than MK and doesn't handle the crowds quite as well. But there's just so much detail and everything is so well laid out that I don't think you'll feel any more cramped than you would during an average busy day at MK. You'll definitely do a lot less walking.

At DCA, you won't feel cramped at all. In fact, you might just think you're the only guest in the park. Chances are, you will be. ;)
