I'd imagine something like this

That would take it right through a retention pond. I am thinking it will be like the blue line.

This road still saddens me even though I know you guys are all right. You can tell by how many lanes they've added to the new section they're building now that it's not just meant for cast members. If it had to go in, fine. But, I really wish they would have added a big berm between the road and the cast lot to hide it.

The road has not even started construction. There will be a berm.

If it is a guest road, a berm certainly is necessary. There's more there than just a parking lot there, which was never meant to be seen. And thanks danlb, that plan is what I was referring to.

It will just be a fence. From what I understand, the "entrance" (The characters and the sign and all that) will be placed much farther on, after you finish getting through the service areas.

As far as you making your own maps, I already made a map on the very first post on this thread. danlb_2000's map is pretty close to my own from over a year ago.

May I ask where the evidence shows this will be a guest entrance? There are already entrances to property that are intended to be for cast and vendors: Vista Blvd and Buena Vista Dr, coming from 536; and Sherberth Rd coming from 192. None of these have theming, nor should they.

Center Dr always was a cast entrance. This new road is simply moving and upgrading the infrastructure a couple hundred yards to the west, though its purpose remains the same.

I am picturing signage just like the Western Way entrance for folks leaving 429 and stopping for breakfast at Cracker Barrell and then heading to their room at Grand Floridian, Poly, CR.. But time will tell I guess..

There's no definitive proof, but there are signs. If you look at the water management drawings, the incoming road is wide enough for two lanes plus a turn lane into the cast area for parking. The exit is also at least two lanes for a total of a 4-5 lane road. There's a large cul-de-sac as well that temporarily terminates the road which infers that in the future, that road (at minimum four lanes) will be expanded into the property. If it was meant to stay a cast-only road like Vista, etc..., I don't think there would be a need for four lanes of traffic. If it is intended to be a guest road in the future, four lanes would be required. Granted, this means that Floridian Way would need to be enlarged to 4 lanes as well down to the MK parking lot, so this is obviously a long-term project and not happening all right now. Right now it's just an improved cast entrance with a traffic signal and road re-alignment. But, the signs are pointing toward a future expansion and possible guest entrance (as much as I personally dislike that idea).

i understand roughly where this north entrance is going but what roadway is disney planning on using for guest flow to TTC?

The only variable that hasn't been discussed all that much is how they'll handle traffic flow for this new traffic *into* the TTC parking lot. To get to the other theme parks the cars can just continue south on World Drive, but as of now traffic heading for the TTC would take the U-turn into the TTC lot beyond the MK toll booths. Once more and more traffic starts bypassing the toll booths I'm sure the bean-counters would have something to say.

There was talk when the racetrack was closing saying that they might move the MK toll booths northwest of where they are now, partially on top of where the track currently is. This would make southbound traffic taking the U-turn into the TTC lot pay the parking fee, as well as allow them to split the traffic heading to the MK resorts off the roadway before the toll booths.

And if they're doing all that other roadway construction in the area, they might as well design in the fly-over ramp to connect the northern part of World Drive southbound directly to the rest of World Drive southbound so that traffic leaving the Contemporary and WL plus bus traffic leaving the MK won't have to make the detour down Seven Seas Drive past the Polynesian.

A fully-thought out design could look quite nice here, actually. Perhaps integrate the toll plaza into the flyover ramp to make it a single structure, or at least design it so they "work" visually.
