WDW Ticket Price Increase

Yeah. I tried their "mobile magic" while I was there. It was problematic because every time I wanted to use my google pay, those stupid mobile magic cards popped up! The CMs said it was happening a lot to google pay people and said just to remove the mobile magic cards from my "wallet". I did.

Also, even though I use google pay, I still use credit cards when dining out, anywhere. I do not keep a digital copy of all my credit cards on my phone and I would hate to be required to use my phone to pay for table-service restaurants.

Or do they mean they send the bill to your phone and you pay on your phone? Confused.
Yeah, I use cards for everything or magic band on occasion, though the cast members look at me funny if I try to do that. Most cards have tap to pay though, so it doesn't get much more digital than that. If they refuse card or cash with no upfront warning about payment methods, I won't be paying. I'm not someone to complain or fight about most inconveniences, but if they don't want cash or credit they can get nothing. If there is a sign at the front saying you need to pay with some other method, then I have the option of not dining there at least.

I was at Epcot yesterday and while I was having just about to pay for my breakfast at Cape May I was told I could only pay "digitally"?...well I only a cell phone and really don't need one....they never mentioned it while was waiting for my table to be cleaned, The CM stated they "just started this today"....they did take my CC but alot of diners also was shocked as they we not informed during check-in....I love Disney but it's getting harder for me, as a senior, with all these changes, ( reservations, prices changes, new rules, etc) just to get into the parks...the money is not an issue as I have control at what I willing to spend (budge) but it's all the extra tools just to get into the parks, rides, food, etc)....just saying...
Digitally? What does that even mean? They can take cash, gift card, magic band or credit card, those are my options to pay. Take it or leave it, Disney.

Ah, it could be that. They are doing that at a lot of places in Hawaii. You scan a QR code and pay that way (which was frankly more of a pain in the butt). It took twice as long and was clunky even for me as someone who is very familiar with tech.

Oh, it was bad then, no question. But the intensification since 2015 has far surpassed anything that came before. Doubling prices, six years to build a cloned ride, no trams, no regular housekeeping, severe understaffing, park reservations, line-skip upcharge, a third of EPCOT behind walls for years, massive entertainment cuts, one cost-cut parade in the entire resort, two hundred dollar shortened holiday parties, skyrocketing room rates, wait times on the help line that almost always exceed an hour, headliner rides breaking with clockwork regularity due to a chronic lack of maintenance, rides running without multiple effects working properly, diminished food portions and dramatically inflated food prices, several tremendously disappointing nighttime “spectaculars” - in 2015, all this would have been dismissed as the absurd hyperbole of a doom-and-gloomer on these boards. The poster would have been mocked.
On certain boards, the poster would have been BANNED.

Capitalism blah blah blah they can raise prices because people are still going. Ok sure. But they are still being aholes.

They just had a huge price increase called genie plus and now have the balls to increase ticket prices on top of that. Disney is one of the greediest companies ever. Disney treats their fans like an abusive partner.
I was wondering how everyone had conveniently forgot that to this point? Well done

It may be a little more complicated than that, single day/short stay tickets increased on quite a few days throughout the year. But the span of days without increases kept prices the same cost until stay was lengthened. With the $109 prices in September, the surrounding days (i.e. weekends) were increased while the $109 days remained.
I looked exclusively at the range. The base price and top prices did not change. Its very time consuming to go through an entire calendar lol.

The real look here is…in a world devoid of aps…is that you can easily be paying $140-160 per day walkaway in the parks without breaking a sweat now.

lots of questions. In an enigma wrapped inside a mystery

Part of the added insidiousness of the date based pricing. About a year ago, when they first put 2022 tickets on sale, they shifted quite a few dates from lower price ranges to higher price ranges. While the ranges stayed the same, the effective price increased, on average. Now they are explicitly increasing the price ranges, effectively making two price increases between 2021 and 2022 tickets.

And the $15…which is absolutely evolving into a base ticket price increase…which was the whole point of it out the gate

It’s been years…and I still can’t quite wrap my ganglion on basically full price each day on multi days…

all that work to solidify the place for 40 years tossed by the roadside
It's really mind boggling to me, too. It really is throwing the whole system out the door, considering Universal's 3rd or 4th day is often FREE.

I know we've been saying it for years, but one day they will decelerate too much, and be passed up by their competition, that they won't have the fuel to catch back up. It's happened to all the US corporate giants when they get lazy and their competitors get hungry.

But see, this is why disney generously offers the sorcerer pass to out of state (blue card) dvc members, so that they can still get some value from multiple trips in a year.

Oh wait…they only sold passes for 2 months in the last 2 years. Can’t wait for those millions of new GF points to start selling on March 3! But Moonlight Magic is back, that’s worth $30,000 for the minimum buy in!
