Is that the remarkably irritating gal on the Disney TV?

Irritating? Possibly.

Remarkably Hot? Absolutely.

Since this forum is about gambling, I'm betting that once you see her in a cocktail waitress dress, you'll forget all about how irritating you think she is.:animwink:

Hmmmm, perhaps our resident Daring Disney Diplomat could shed some light on the gambling issue...however, she might not be able to because of Company reasons. Anyway,[calls out] Pixie Duster, where are you?

Let's play good and Evil for this post...
It just seems wronge to gamble at Disney!!! It's like stealing from disney, or throwing a piece of trash on the ground:eek: These are things that you just know deep in your heart are morally wronge! Disney is a sacred place, we must keep it pure!!!

Okay, let's flip that...

A gambling arena would be very fun for those that love Disney. Plus it would generate money to give pay raises to all of those union workers:sohappy:.
Instead of comprimising the integrity of the 'family" idea, why not have after hour gambling cruises on the seven seas lagoon. The Kiddies are in bed anyway and it would be fun adult time. It could start after the water pageant parade and end at 2:00am It could make periodic stops at the ttc for those who don't wish to gamble all night.

Just an idea...

I'll have to say, this is the best news I've heard in years.... As an avid fan of the Mouse as well as a dealer in a casino I've been waiting on this just so I can work for Disney... I"ve thought about working on the boats out of Tampa just to be close but being a Cast Member would be a dream.

Now as for where and how they should do it... PI or the Boardwalk would be the place to put it... these are areas already geared towards adults.
:D its my prom date!!

I'm all for a casino...in the proper place! I think that if they put it in PI they would have to stop letting the little ones in there...

Gambling

First of all what kind of message are you sending kids if they are right on property and seeing gambling in a Disney hotel? I mean, I go to Atlantic City all the time so I have no problem with it but there are places for that and Disney should NOT be one of them. Secondly, The arcade thing, give me a break with that one. Don't even compare the two, that's crazy. There have been arcades around for decades and to see it's like gambling, NOT! People don't lose houses over arcade games. I think most people who go to Disney would hate that idea!~! :hammer:

...in fact if anything Vegas needs more things for the young ones while the parents play...just some thoughts...

Apparently, you don't follow the happenings in Vegas too closely. What you're suggesting ("more things for the young people while the parents play") has not already been considered and done in Vegas, but is something that failed miserably for that city. In the early 90's, casinos in Vegas decided to build more entertainment aimed at families in order to draw the parents to Vegas to gamble, while the kids would have something exciting to do. Hence, you saw the creation of an indoor theme park at Circus Circus, an outdoor movie theme park behind the MGM Grand, and several rollercoasters inside hotels on the Strip. The plan didn't work. The MGM Grand Adventures park closed down years ago and now it just sits there. The rollercoasters are still running, but their operating hours have all been drastically reduced and there's pretty much never a line for any of them. The lesson: Vegas just isn't a place for kids. People just don't think of it as a place for families. So now, they're trying to change the perception back, in people's minds, to Vegas being for adults. The pirate stunt show at Treasure Island, for example, has been replaced with a show involved scantily clad women singing to mariners. And commercials for Vegas now always include the tagline, "What happens here stays here."

Bad idea.

"I believe that the right kind of entertainment can appeal to all persons, young or old." - W.D.

Casinos don't appeal to the young, though they appeal to the old.

And isn't WDW saturated enough with entertainment? If a couple wants to go gambling, they'll go to Las Vegas, not Disney. And if a couple, with children, wants to go gambling in Disney, well then, further polarization. The adults will ride the carousel while the children will sit on the bench eating peanuts and watch.

Being as we know this will never happen, I thought this was going to be a fun thread that we could have fun with, but obviously not. Rather than having fun with it, people are already yelling about it because gambling is considered taboo and it not politically correct for our children.

Arcades can be considered gambling if you put it in the right context. You pay money to try and win a prize (a stuffed animal). With a slot machine, you pay money to try and win a prize (more money). Next your going to tell me that the stock market isn't gambling, yet we try to teach our kids about that because it's a good place to earn money or invest in our futures. The stock market is the largest casino on earth. How many people "invest" (gamble) to try and earn more? I have clients who took out home equity loans to "day trade" and lost it all, including a wife, a house and his kids. So while we're teaching our kids about not gambling, we shouldn't teach them about the stock market either, right?

Sorry for my rant, but I think people are a little too sensitive about protecting everything pure in our lives. I have 2 kids and 1 on the way and want to protect them, but to think that having a casino in Disney is not appropriate for them is pure craziness. It will never happen in Disney, and we know that, but lighten up people. Gambling is not the devil.

It's time to end Politically Correctness. It's killing our country.

Well, there is nothing crazy about comparing the acrade games where us put quater in the machine and you have a chance to win three or four times that amount. Gambling is anything where you play the odds of winning and losing. Gambling does not have to be associated with games it can be gambling with your life by drinking and driving. Any casino game works the same way, you try to put money in to get the most return. I am not saying they should get ride of them, cause I am sure they make money off of it like casinos, but I don't think it is crazy to consider it as gambling.

I would say that if they were going to put a casino in, maybe it could be the 5th gate ;)

On my visit to Vegas I saw many families...the market is there...it just hasn't been tapped correctly. Each resort has many activities aimed at children and young adults...just not enough. If Disney were to build a resort with a moderate sized themepark with actual good, innovative ride, ala Disney...then perhaps the concept would work...

Perhaps this survey question has nothing to do with WDW, or DL, rather the true purpose is to see how Disney guest and fans feel about gambling and Disney. Maybe the powers that be at Disney are looking into other ventures the company may pursue directly dealing with gambling, away from the resort areas...

Yes, because if kids see things, they may ask questions, and then the parents will actually have to parent.

Possibly a casino would work well on the Empress Lilly, kind of like the old Riverboats.

Again, you are making the assumption that everyone that visits WDW has children, which is not true.

Young and Old?.....what is young....2? 12? 22?....what is old...20? 40? 60?

Why should WDW continue to lose visitors to Vegas, when they could easlity target that market.

How many people like to play casino games, but maybe only for a short period of time? Wouldn't this be perfect, that chance to have a Disney vacation and still go to a casino.
