WDW Souvenier books for sale

I managed to find Souvenier Books for the parks at the little shop by the turnstiles at MK yesterday. I purchased the Epcot one.

They cost 6.95, are soft cover, are a little 9x9 or so square, have several pages (a 2-page spread for each attraction at Epcot, 1 page for each country) and are full of photos and information about each.

Why is merf talking about a souvenier book in news? Well, because people had been saying they didn't offer them anymore. They're not a hardcover book, no, but they are nice books very reminiscent of those hardcover books in style. There's one for each park.

It's neat, it's not just photos, but good descriptions of things and explanations.

They apparently have them on amazon through one of the little stores:

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-World-...09/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1207416219&sr=11-1

And i found the DHS one (which amazon has in stock):

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-World-...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207416399&sr=1-1

And MK:

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Kingdo...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207416399&sr=1-3

And AK:

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Animal...=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207416399&sr=1-4

Sorry had to say it :)

Too bad the amazon link doesn't have any pics.

I saw these for sale in a few places today. At the Writer's Stop at DHS you could buy a pack of all 4 books. In the pack the books were still titled Disney-MGM Studios instead of Disney's Hollywood Studios.

It's interesting that they're labelled as being for 9-12 year olds. Do they look like they're supposed to be children's books?

From the outside, yes, but they read like the big Epcot book and similar books. Just a little shorter.

I think scanning one page so you guys know what the book looks like isn't a flagrant copyright infringement.

And no, they didn't confuse Japan for Italy with the pic - it's part of a two page spread - the other page is Japan.

Amazon typically marks all the WDW-related books as being for the young'uns. Most of the grown-up / "making of" type books have also been marked as such.

I saw the one for DHS in January. It was on sale at the MK of all places. The others weren't out yet.

I wasn't overly impressed. It's something ... but it seemed like a real rush job. And worse, it was already out of date showing things like Stars and Motor Cars.

If I wanted a cheap keepsake of a visit though, it might be worthwhile.
