What are the security checks like at Disney World now? Are they at every park? Do they check everyone or just pick people randomly?

if i remember correctly - when i was there last fall they were also inspecting strollers as well...
i am a firm believer in better safe than sorry... i even point out the pockets in my bags that they miss... if they miss one in my bag - they are likely to miss one "a bad guys" bag too...

Same thing happened to me. The guard asked me what was in my Disney bag and I told him souvenirs, but he just said ok and let me thru. I wish he would have looked because that made me a little uneasy that he would just believe what I said. I could have had something else my bag besides a souvenir.
Like a "laser" bwhahahahaha:drevil:
sorry had to do it:lol:
I'm not gonna say it again, because I have ranted on about how ineffectual the security checks are in so many threads now.Originally posted by mwitkus
that's my point - who's to say you didn't have something dangerous in your bag... what is the point of having security checkpoints if they aren't really going to check you out? when we went to a football game we had to go through pretty strict security where they actually patted everyone down on their way into the stadium - it took a bit longer to get in but at least i felt like they were taking security seriously - and no - i'm not suggesting that they start patting down all guests before letting them into the parks - but i am suggesting their security checks might need to be taken a bit more seriously...

Although I'm sure that the security checks do occasionally catch thing that shouldn't be going into the park, i find them hilarious. When we went to MGM the security guard looked in my purse and took out a piece of paper that had my friends address on it. Infront of the rest of the line he started questioning me if it was my boyfriends address, and was i sending him a letter or a gift..... it was funny, but highly embarrassing. I finally was just like could I please have that back.... It did put me in a good mood for the rest of the day, however, I didn't really understand the safety about the whole procedure.... BUT if makes ppl feel safer then I'm all for it.....:sohappy:

Interesting that they are now checking strollers. Do they make you remove the child?
