Didn't they somehow sabotage Journey Into Imagination by messing with the queue to make the wait times go down so the higher-ups would think the ride wasn't popular anymore? Also I’m sure we are fine but with the show likley getting redone first I am slightly worried of a “HISTA” show is more popular than ride situation where the execs learn the wrong lesson again and we get figment and inside out with figment but idk. Who knows.
It still baffles me how they went through with closing JII because of how bad of a decision that was. Even from a business standpoint.Didn't they somehow sabotage Journey Into Imagination by messing with the queue to make the wait times go down so the higher-ups would think the ride wasn't popular anymore?
Park ops wanted it gone just as bad, if not more, because of the turn table.JII closing was largely Kodak's doing. They wanted something more "modern".

Oh. Right. The thing that always broke.Park ops wanted it gone just as bad, if not more, because of the turn table.
The irony in this kills me everytime. As if JII was the most dated thing in the park. Tbf every other future world pavilion got/was getting work done at that time so it makes sense, but still… JII was the outlier in all of future worldJII closing was largely Kodak's doing. They wanted something more "modern".
I remember on a retromagic interview ron schnider (the dreamfinder) implied that some execs hated figment too “I hate that f***ing dragon” is how he worded it. (Around 10:00)JII closing was largely Kodak's doing. They wanted something more "modern".
It was more that they had a contract Kodak had to redo the ride if they wanted to continue sponsoringPark ops wanted it gone just as bad, if not more, because of the turn table.

Question: is “Inside Out In Magic Eye/Epcot” new threads worthy or does it fall into “figment replaced by figment”? Or no thread at all?Figment gets the ride, Inside Out gets Magic Eye. Clock it.
I feel like it doesn’t need a new thread unless formally announced.Question: is “Inside Out In Magic Eye/Epcot” new threads worthy or does it fall into “figment replaced by figment”? Or no thread at all?
Oh boy surgery! What a wonderful gift for Christmas!Transparency: Got wisdom teeth removed. No updates probably for rest of the year. Might try to slip one out if anything drops (need to look at Indy and encanto stuff) but don't be shocked!

I can live with this. I assume that once Test Track opens that the SSE update begins and they won't have two concurrent projects / updates at EPCOT?Will say:
1. Figment after SSE redo is something I really hope is true
2. I hope Disney creates new stuff for both DL and WDW Tomorrowlands (and while I hate Disney building everything twice, in this case IDC
I’ve been hearing lots of talk about spaceship earth being planned for an update after test track. Is there a confirmed plan for this or is it still a rumor?I can live with this. It was supposed to happen during the whole Epcot wall project but Covid and lack of funding shelved it. Believe me it’s still in the back burner of Imagineering but nothing major other than new narration some effect updates and that’s about it. Once the Siemens sponsorship ended there has been a lack of interest from corporate over a reimagineering of the attraction. EPCOT as it stands right now is at the back burner with Magic and Animal Kingdom getting the bulk of funds and the Florida team behind them. Believe me spaceship earth hasn’t been forgotten, as soon as there’s enough leftover from the budget it will see some fresh life. Not confirmed.
Should have happened with the EPCOT refresh, but then COVID.
Also, should have happened a decade ago.
So, the rumors of a SSE refurb is evergreen.
