Still no replacement optical drive for my computer, so no WDW pictures, but here is a Disney picture from my home:

Not a dumb question... By photoshopped do you mean processed? It's certainly not straight off the camera, as all my pictures go through some editing. I shoot in RAW, which really helps with color / white balance, saturation and highlights and shadows. This picture did not really require much editing though. The D300 is a pretty amazing camera if you ask me. I shot all my fireworks this trip with a tripod, obviously, but I used a shutter release cable and shot in the "bulb" exposure setting, which means the shutter will stay open as long as you hold the button down. In my opinion, shooting fireworks is a lot about timing.

I bet that's killing you Tom. Hope you get that sucker up and running soon so we can all enjoy your great WDW pictures again :)

Your 10.9 second bulb shot got almost all of the same bursts as my 25 second shot of Illuminations. I was already planning on using bulb mode for the upcoming trip, but that convinced me to use it exclusively. It should help cut down on noise, and 'blown-outness' of the globe.

As for the computer, it is really killing me. We leave for Indy tomorrow, and we leave for WDW directly from Indy. I work long hours all week Thanksgiving, so I won't have the time to drive 2 hours back to Valpo to see if the drive has come next week. Although I will only use the computer briefly to transfer pictures and check to make sure the "important" ones turned out (so I don't have to retake them), that is so much easier to do on my Core 2 Duo machine with 4GB of RAM than it is on Sarah's Centrino laptop with 512 MB of RAM. CS3 Bridge requires a lot to view the RAW images.

Although the break hasn't been all bad--I haven't had to "compete" with the images you, Jeff, and Matt (the one here and the one on Flickr) having been posting lately. I swear it's like an arms race around here!

Some amazing shots the last few days

Jeff- The Future World shot in #1091 is absolutely amazing.
Joe- Outstanding Illuminations shot in #1100. The color and motion is just awesome.

Wish I had a wider angle lense from where I was standing for this one.

Joe,

Absolutely Amazing photo again! I really need to get to know my camera better. I don't usually delve into the advanced settings much. Now I may need to play a little.

Jeff,

Great Mousegear photo as well. I really like the saturated color.
