funny story.....

DSC_1145.jpg

We were eating dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and if you've eaten there, you know how they are. Well, when we were seated, my son didn't get any crayons so my dad asked our server if he could have some. A couple of minutes later, our server is standing in the middle of the restaurant saying "ladies and gentlemen, this little man has a problem. He didn't get any crayons!! I need everyone to bring one crayon from each table!" Next thing we know, everyone in the restaurant was bringing us a ton of crayons...buckets of them! The look on his face was priceless...it was so funny and such a great experience! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip!

WDWFIGMENT-- Hey i am a big fan of all your shots!! I was thinking of buying my fiance a Nikon D40 (because we LOVE the quality of your night photos). Is the D40 generally a user friendly camera? Does it require a lot of learning and/or software programs to take great photos or is it basically the camera itself that produces results? It will be his first REAL camera (as opposed to like kodak digital cameras). Should i go ahead and splurge on the D40 or start of with something more user-friendly?? Thanks for any advice in advance!!!!!

As far as DSLRs go, the Nikon D40 is very user-friendly. It does not require a lot of learning or any software to take pictures. However, I take all of my pictures in full manual mode, and use a tripod and remote for all of the night shots, and then adjust the shots as necessary in Camera Raw and (sometimes) Photoshop CS3. Without this additional work, the pictures would not look nearly the same. Depending on what you are willing to learn, this could be a good camera for you; if not, maybe something with modes (fireworks, night portrait, etc) would be the better way to go. I recommend reading some reviews no matter what.

looks like Boma to me....and yes I agree another great picture!!

Thanks, it is indeed Boma. I was disappointed with this picture because I actually had a much better version (no people in the background) but I cut out the top of the Rhino's horn! Oh well, I'll try again next time.

Sleeping Beauty will be coming out on dvd and blu-ray one week from today :king:

Sarah and I are pretty excited about this. Have you seen the complete schedule of releases through 2012? It looks really good. I have been scrounging for good deals on a Blu-ray player for the last month or so. The best price I've found is $160 (which was a good deal), but I expect them to be on sale the day after Thanksgiving for $99 in extremely limited quantities at a few stores. Looks like I'll be waiting until then. I probably will be camping out the night before since I need a new laptop, anyway!

Please link on the link in my signature to the rest of my WDW Flickr pictures (and also some shots of our seven week old dachshund, Walter!).

Just wanted to say great pictures! And your puppy is adorable. I'm holding out to find a good rescue dachshund and hope he ends up only half as cute!
