**RANDOM** mkt, what kind of environmental impact do the duck have? i like having this cute animals around, but wondering what ecological impact do they have. do they eat insects, or bacteria/ algea out of lakes and ponds. i just wondered if any one knew off the top of your head. dont have time to research.

like i said, RANDOM!

I know the ducks that live at Typhoon Lagoon often become lunch for the gator that lives in the retention pond. I hope this family doesnt they are quite cute. They have gotten into the habit of sleeping in the shade under the parks vehicles. Now we always have to check before we move one.

Wonderful Pics! I really hate to see 20K torn down, but I am very glad they are doing something with it. I hated to see it just sitting there. The skyline is looking great! But that really is a lot of construction in the summer months. I'm sure it is to get ready for the big 50 year celebration of DL beginning next spring. We were going to go back this Thanksgiving, but due to the celebration (and construction going on) we have postponed our trip for a year. Maybe everything will be perfect by then!

If everyone will please turn your attention to Rob's last pic, with the GF pool. It is in one of those tents where I saw someone propose to his girlfriend 2 years ago. It was right after the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks. It was really magical. Just thought I'd share.

How high is that construction wall around the cherry pickers on NY/SF streets? Are you standing on something?

most are about 10 feet tall. These were just 4 footers, so nope. Not standing on anything

What is going o at the Contemporary?

from what I understand, they're putting Nextel repeaters, and some satellite dishes all across the roof of the Contemporary.

Not much of one. There's a reason swimming pools are chlorinated. And the Seven Seas Lagoon is already nasty. I'm betting the chlorine carried by the Ducks from the pool into the Lagoon isn't having any impact that years of firework fallout and diesel fuel leaks can't make worse.

not even a park bench for me. Tip-toes and stretching my hand will clear my camera over the wall.

Haven't the F&W booths been sitting there since they were removed? I know they were there around Jan/Feb at least.

The old Spain ones have been there since the end of F&W 02, but that wasn't what I was getting at. They're being shifted towards the end and there's obvious construction/paint crews there and they look like they're being placed in position to be moved soon. Which ironically, F&W preparations within the park probably begin in 4-8 weeks.

oh, i was referring to what they eat in the "wild". i mean do they help with the insect population, do they help with funk in the lagoon or just add to it (lol), are they fed by disney and guests, or do they depend on mostly food found in the surrounding habitats (minus the human food dropped).

this is all.

I did that on my last visit for AK`s Diorama construction. I almost got some land in the picture! If only I knew what they were building I wouldn`t have bothered...

Great pics! I can't believe how that looks with the Food and Wine Festival booths and set-up at the side of the road. Very unprofessional indeed.
Your misinformed. Woodpecker Road is not a guest area. Its after a distant, former parking lot that also includes storage of the Christmas big metal thingy as well as a bunch of countless trailers. There's no way for the average guest to get back there unless they specifically know where they are going. The road in to parking purposely turns to the right to lead you to kennel/AAA parking, so there's no way you can just 'stumble' on these.

You have to know where you are going in order to get to that backstage area. The road is also directly across from the entrance to Epcot Cast Parking, and the road is clearly marked "Service/Authorized Vehicles Only".

So its not a guest area by any stretch of the imagination. The parking lot and road has not been used in years for regular guest activities aside from special events where busses occasionaly pass by every once in a blue moon.

I know this may have been discussed, but is the destruction of 20K going on right in plain sight? No construction wall up or anything to buffer it from the guest? Makes me sad to see that. I remember riding 20K on my very first WDW trip :(
No, there is about a 10-12 foot wall surrounding the former lagoon. There is one place where you can stand on top of a planter to get yourself up to the top of the wall.

That's true Dave, when entering through the back. But when entering from the front, it is a guest area. Especially when the park fills up and they have to park people back there/dump guests out through woodpecker road. It has gotten that busy before.
