Thought this thread might be the best to ask rather than starting a new one. I get conflicting info on this but can anyone confirm whether the rule is no flash photography for CoP or no photography period.

Thanks!

I believe the pre-show says no photography or video/filming (whatever their wording is). Obviously people do it and nobody seems to get tossed out :lookaroun

I'm not sure what their intentions with the "ban" are but I usually assume it's to avoid annoying people trying to enjoy the show. With that in mind, in shows like that I try to be stealthy about it; leave the LCD off on the camera, no flash, and keep things as quiet as possible. If I happen to be sitting close by people I won't bother with it at all.

The big no-no is using a flash of course, but I'm finding the LCDs are running a close second. Nothing like sitting there in the dark trying to enjoy a show only to have someone in the next row hold up a camera with a bright LCD on while they're taking pictures, texting, watching the video they just shot outside...or, whatever. :)

Thanks for the tips - I rarely use my LCD and would never use flash on a ride anyway. I'll just pick a spot away from people turn off my shutter sounds and see what I can get. I just thought that was odd attraction to not allow photography - Flash photography I understand but all photography seemed strange to me

Ok, I have to say there are some amazing photographers on here...it really makes my day to look at these pictures.

This board is lucky to have so many extremely talented photographers:

ºoºJoe, emcclay, Master_Gracey, Photoflight, Blackthidot, Preludevtec01, Popsicletrees, 1DisneyDad, ShadeRF, donsullivan, WDWFigment...I realize these are just a few of the great photogs on here but they represent the style and artistry that I have admired. You guys have all made me want to take some great photos on my trip next week. Thank you for the inspiration :sohappy:

Also, I'm stealing some of your ideas for shots :lookaroun:D

You are so kind! So happy to be the inspiration for someone else. Just compose pictures from all different perspectives. Instead of always looking forward, turn around and see how things look from behind.. shoot high angles, or even get on the ground to get the shot.. take advantage of the golden hour! :)

Don, nice shot. Originally thought it was taken elsewhere; I'm still trying for that shot from the TTA.
