One of those "It's something new" type things?

I like it simply because of the compositional opportunities it gives me. My castle fisheye I just posted I don't think I could have pulled off without the fisheye. And there are other shots you just simply couldn't do without having the extra width... and sometimes the distortions can be kinda cool.

It just seriously hurts my head looking at them. That is why I am not a fam. It looks cool...but after looking at like 3 or 4 my head spins.

It looks very good for certain angles or perspectives. I dont like the WAY over-processed shots posted a while back that looks like every dial was turned to the max. Those give a person a headache. Keep up the good work all.

I like fish eyes in moderation, but I think often they are way over used. Seeing everything distorted gets tiring pretty quick. No argument though, when used well (and for me, in moderation), the results can be really impressive.

I agree, definitely in moderation. I took just over 5000 photos on my last trip and less than 60 were with the fisheye. Like I say, I try to only use it to accomplish something I couldn't with my 11-16 lens.

I'm probably one of those people who over-uses the fisheye. I use it a lot, but since I take photos that I enjoy, and I enjoy the fisheye, I take a lot of photos with it.

It's a good thing that everyone does their own thing, otherwise we'd have everything looking the same. Wide angle is addictive - for point and shooters it's all about the zoom, and for DSLR users it's about getting wide.

Agreed! There are certain post-processing techniques I can't stand (selective color, fake tilt-shift, etc.), but I understand we each have our own preferences, so I don't begrudge anyone for it.

I know a lot of people don't like fisheye or only like it in moderation, but I love it. Since I have complete editorial discretion over what photos I take (the benefit of being an amateur!), I take the photos I like taking! My own wife isn't even a fan of my fisheye shots. She downright hates my infrared photos, too!

I'm with you on selective color, everytime I see that my blood pressure rises. I always run my pictures by my wife before posting them. She is brutally honest about my photos and usually right after I long ago lost perspective on a shot I'm editing.
