WDW Permits

MasterYoda, since you're probably going to be getting a lot of 'thanks' in this thread, maybe it would be best if you just updated your initial post with the days listing as opposed to making a new post in this thread. Maybe you planned on doing this already (or hate the idea), but I just thought I'd lend my advice. Do with it what you will...

Oh, and thanks for this useful contribution!

I had kind of planned on that but if I am not mistaken there is a character limit to a single post so chances are I will have to continue in another post sooner or later. This thread is kind of a beta version. I will make changes to the format as problems arise. With any luck a final format should be locked down in a couple of weeks.

Wow, the first post has progressed nicely just since I left for work this morning! Very nice work. I love things that are all organized and user friendly and stuff :)

Since you may be looking for an adjustment to the format at some point, may I offer one suggestion as well...

You could always start a new thread each month, or each quarter. That way you won't have to worry about the first post becoming too long, and you have a clear cutoff point for reference later as well if anyone wants to do a search. Maybe add the dates to the title of the thread.

Either way... great idea, thanks for your effort on this

I am hoping that a single thread will last a month. What I might do next month is lock up the first 4 or 5 posts and that should give me plenty of room to expand.

New permits for 2/22/2008 posted. There is one big one at DHS that could we could use some more information on.

Nice work with this thread Master Yoda. One suggestion though, could you post the new permits in your new posts of the thread as well as on the first page? It would be easier for people who scan the boards by new post to have the permits right there instead of on a different page.

I think the DHS permit has to be the American Idol project. It and the backlot theater (which we know the permit isn't for by the address) seem to be the only places they'd be doing lighting and set work.

According to MapQuest.com, that address is Disney Animation. I'm not sure if that is just the technical name of everything in that area, or it could actually mean something.

When I tried synching Google Maps with the park map, it was definitely The Magic of Disney Animation. But, I don't really know what type of sets they would be replacing. Hmmm.....:veryconfu

Could they be setting a meet and greet inside the animation tour building for Wall-E????

Very possible... The question is whether this would replace the Incredibles or be separate. (It could very well replace the Incredibles, because I did a search on google to make sure that they were still there, and found http://www.passporterboards.com/forums/touring-world-parks/150982-do-incredibles-do-meet-greet.html where one poster said that they are rumored to move to France.

I didn't know the Incredibles were inside the tour? I remember going through the tour a few years ago and they had a Chicken Little meet and greet set up.. I assumed they set this little area up for meet and greets for the new movies coming out....

They are. I'm sure it's the same area. Now that I look back on my pictures, it's less permanent than I had remembered. Just a backdrop with pedestals for the characters to use for their stamps (which they had instead of giving autographs)

I also just realized that they had a cars area, even though there were no characters there when I went. So, it is likely that the set change is for a Wall-E meet and greet, seeing as how that area seems to be anchored by characters from new Disney animated movies.
