Well I am back from little to no connectivity hell so updates will start appearing on a daily basis again.

permits? I thought one of the reasons Disneyworld had its own quasi government was so they didn't have to adhere to local governments with regards to construction. I mean, so they wouldn't need permission to build or demolish anything, which is what a permit is.
Not quite. They sill have to meet or exceeds all Florida building codes. In fact they are under tighter scrutiny then pretty much every other building organization in the state . (hence the permits for light switches and such) The big difference is that there professional engineers can approve that an unconventional construction method meets Florida building without having to convince a building official.

New Attraction??

This is one of the best threads so far!

I have a query though. On 3/24 there is a permit for new construction major at EPCOT Storm Struck. What is this?!?? Where will it be located? Anyone know rumors or news on this?

Just learned something

I just found this after a brief Google search. Living here in Florida we get plenty of strong storms. I wonder how popular this will be with peoople whose homes have had significant damage in a storm.

As you settle into the movie-style seats and don your 3-D glasses, make sure to hang onto your chair - and be ready to get “blown away.”

In late summer, visitors to INNOVENTIONS at Epcot® at the Walt Disney World® Resort will be able to experience Storm Struck – A Tale of Two Homes™. This exhibit, presented by the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, Inc. – FLASH® with its partners Renaissance Reinsurance, Simpson Strong-Tie and legacy partner, State Farm Insurance Companies®, will allow participants to endure the ultimate virtual storm and watch it from the comfort of their “home.”

Storm Struck is aimed at raising awareness about safer, stronger, more weather-resistant homes. For 10 years, State Farm has been a legacy partner of FLASH, which is dedicated to promoting disaster safety and property loss mitigation, and we are proud to be a sponsor in this experience."
