WDW Permits Part 3

So technically the pavilion is still called Living Seas?

In the books, blueprints, plats, surveys and other legally recorded documents, yes.

Calling it "The Seas with Nemo" can be likened to a business having a serious legal name, but is "doing business as" something fun and friendly.

Tom, a sincere thank you for taking this over. I was thinkingh the same months ago, but I cannot even get time to be on the boards lately let alone keep up with posting. You are doing a great job!!! :sohappy:

One thing Tom is can you place a new post everytime you update so we get notification of a new update to the list? It would be very much appreciated.

I concur, thanks for doing this.

Also, did anyone else notice that the new MK merch kiosk was mentioned about a month ago? This would've clarified what was going in there, had we seen it earlier. This thread could've prevented the chaos that ensued for those 36 hours...:ROFLOL:

It sure did. All of these Notices to Proceed are filed by Walt Disney World Resort, and the location drawings are done by Reedy Creek, since they maintain the master property plans.

Is there a way to obtain these maps? Most of the reason I love looking at permits is because of the maps included in the Notice of Commencements. I've tried in vain to find larger or smaller maps online except in other permits. Excellent job, keep up the good work!

Now that I'm caught up, it will be a lot easier to keep up. Glad to do it - it's very interesting and forces me to stay in the loop.

And yes, I'll post when I update! In fact, this is my 10/6 notice of update. Some work at the Caribbean Beach Aruba Pool and electrical work at the TTC. They're moving a power outlet for the Ferrys and replacing an electrical panel at the monorail platform.

I concur, thanks for doing this.

I thought exactly the same thing when I wrote up that one!

Someone like Martin might have some, but they're not readily available. The surveying and plat information might be on file with the county, but it would take some serious digging and "Requests for Information" to the county to get it.

All these maps are generated by Reedy Creek from their master AutoCAD file(s) of property. They turn off a lot of the CAD layers when they create these location maps, so they're not as entertaining as I'd like, but still interesting.

Can one of the mods make this a sticky? Will be very useful as we see permits for Fantasyland appearing.

Thanks

Thanks. I thought it would be in bad form for me to request that of my own thread

I'm very excited to see the FL permits come through.

I am too as I like to deal in facts over fiction and you are providing the facts we can use to see the real picture of what is going on. These permits show just how much is going on that we don't see but keep everything looking and working in great order.

Thanks for taking this up.

10/07/09 Update

A little electrical work taking place in the MK "Maintenance Shop", which appear to be located just outside the main tunnel entrance, behind Small World.

10/08/09 Updates

It seems as if it has come time for a portion of Pooh's facade roof to be replaced at the MK, and they're installing a new queue railing at Pinocchio's - perhaps to accommodate the new QS Seating System.

A few minor repairs and replacements at AK.

Upgraded electrical service at the AKL Jambo playground.

And, they're cleaning the "pooh" out of the sewers at POR.

They have plumbing and electrical for the pools at both Kidani and BLT. The second page mentions UV. Are they adding new colored lights to the pools? I would have geissed they'd have done that when they were installed.
